Free Bungie Day '08 downloads are now available!

Just so you know, the FREE Bungie Day 2008 theme and gamer picture pack are now available for download off the Xbox Live Marketplace. W00tacular! And no, your calendar is not misinforming you. The downloads are available a day early (tomorrow, July 7th is officially Bungie Day), but that just allows us to celebrate 48 hours of Bungie Day(s). You'll have to wait for Cold Storage though, it'll be made available for FREE sometime tomorrow.

Also, when you download today's free goodies, be sure to note the gamer picture pack. Not only is there a soffish, a Pimps at Sea logo and bleached white Bungie logo, but there's one other featuring none other than the mysterious Superintendent himself! He also makes an appearance on the theme's Games blade. What a damn cute lil' plumber.

Uh, yeah it would have to be annual. I didn't think the Bungie Day was a year ago already...doesn't seem like it.

are the downloads available only today and tomorrow? Or will they be permanently available? This is important because I am still waiting for my 360 to come back from the land of the dead. And I really want these gamer pics.

unfortunately for you (and whoever else), the gamer pics and theme are only available for bungie day. After that, they'll disappear into the night. The map however will be available until the end of Xbox Live (or the delisting of content...whichever comes first :))

try & get someone to recover your gamertag & download the gamerpics & theme - that way, it'll be in your download history & u can download them again on your new console :)

I thought it worked that way too, but when they are taken off of Marketplace, they are taken off of your DL history, because I can't get last year's pics and theme back.

i guess they totally deleted them off the servers - other stuff i have in my download history like some E307 videos are still downloadable.

I don't really like those gamerpics >_> I'll just stick with the 2007 pack for those :D (you guessed it, for the past 365 days)
