New video for The Maw
This looks really good, good enough, in fact to be one of the finalists in the PAX 10 indie game competition. Congrats to Twisted Pixel!

MAWWWW!!!! Wheres the meatloaf!!!!!!!!!
Matt @ Jul 9th 2008 10:59PM
The creatures look like they're straight out of from Spore. Not that that's a bad thing...
Momer @ Jul 9th 2008 10:59PM
It may just be the video player, but the fps looks really low in some parts.
Terrence Stasse @ Jul 9th 2008 11:04PM
It's the player.
Viddler isn't the best around.
Anticrawl @ Jul 9th 2008 11:08PM
If you don't understand why the FPS on streamed video is slower than any direct media source then you are not qualified to judge any game based off of an embedded video.

Please watch this, then the Maw one, and you'll see what I mean. Egads.

Since I'm baffled as to why you guys never posted an article from my tip about HAWX two days ago and the video has now been removed from the site I'll share this new video post with you guys. Let Joystiq and PS3fanboy know cause I'm not sending in another tip.

Same video of course, just new sources.
Terrence Stasse @ Jul 9th 2008 11:12PM
Sorry Anti, we get rather a lot of tips and we don't use anywhere near them all. It had nothing to do with you or the game.
That said, you must really be looking forward to HAWX. We'll look into covering it more.
Anticrawl @ Jul 9th 2008 11:19PM
Well I'm excited because it's the first real in-game footage. A big deal for any game with me. I don't generally dig flight games but this one looks interesting. Not even really a big fan of the Tom Clancy series even.
In any case I figured you guys got a lot of tips, the one thing I want covered more is of Fable 2, Force Unleashed Multiplayer info, and Fallout 3. But there really isn't much out there that we haven't already seen, want some juicy in game footage for Fallout 3.
RockerAnimeFreak @ Jul 9th 2008 11:20PM
ZOMG! Spore! KAWAII!
Anticrawl @ Jul 9th 2008 11:25PM
To get on topic here, wow this game actually looks interesting. I was put off by the title, but it's an impressive looking arcade game and will probably end up buying this now.
zorniki @ Jul 10th 2008 2:29AM
The creatures remind me of some Rare designs featured in Kameo. Not a bad thing at all. The 360 is in desperate need of new ideas and game mechanics.
AnthonyGalindoX @ Jul 10th 2008 2:58AM
I'm surprised at how much I liked this video. The 360 has needed a good platformer for a while no and this seems to fit the bill. My only concern is that I don't care for the way the environments look. They just don't seem detailed enough. The characters and effects on the other hand look great.
Bennyishere @ Jul 10th 2008 3:46AM
It ate Earth. EARTH.
Josh @ Jul 10th 2008 6:34AM
Am I the only one who read the title and thought that Bungie was releasing more stuff to go along with their classic Halo campaign level?
Intangible 360 @ Jul 10th 2008 7:50AM
No
Boff @ Jul 10th 2008 7:03AM
This looks like a good fun game! Just from that video, I want it now.
Humour looks to be playing a big part in it too, which is never a bad thing when done right!
And I didn't think it was possible to make a one-eyed purple monster with big teeth (The Maw?) so adorable, but someone obviously did!
webster1990 @ Jul 10th 2008 7:46AM
That looks really really impressive for an XBLA game.
Richard Mitchell @ Jul 10th 2008 10:23AM
Wow. Why does this look better than any platform game on the 360 or the original Xbox?
Looks great.
Lijik @ Jul 10th 2008 12:18PM
Because you live in a world where Voodoo Vince doesn't exist?
Still, I agree: Looks great.
Konchu @ Jul 10th 2008 4:33PM
This has promise the only thing i might have against it is I could see this being polished up into a good retail release game. I love good platformers so I look forward to it.
NvM @ Jul 10th 2008 5:56PM
Holy shit.
I never knew this existed, but that looked really fun and cool.
Brings be back to the days of N64 platformers.
