The Xbox Live Arcade just got
two games bigger this morning with the addition of "
the most co-op game ever"
Schizoid and "the most golfy golf game ever"
Golf: Tee It Up! And wouldn't you know that both games are available right this very instant for purchase off the XBLA for a middle-range 800 Microsoft points apiece. How perfect! Also, we don't think we have to remind you that, if you purchase
Schizoid and go on the prowl for achievements, you'll inevitably unlock the
Sploderific achievement. An achievement whose name was birthed from these sacred X3F blogging grounds. Have fun golfing, have fun being cooperative and (in general) have oodles of fun this XBLA Wednesday.

W00t! I bought Schizoid this morning, I only had time to play a couple of levels. Now I just have to pressure my friends into buying this for some co-op action.

This weeks releases was very weird for me.
At one point I was excited about Schizoid but lost that somewhere waiting for it.
I had little interest in the other release to go along with it.
After trying both trials, my thoughts on Schizoid.
I found the game to be boring co-op or not.
They actually make fun of themselves inbetween stages making comments in the ball park of....No your controllers not broke, this game uses absolutely
none of the buttons on the damn thing.
Sounds like a game Clffy B. could really get into (sorry had to).
It's basically a really, REALLY simplified Ikagura with poor visuals compared to the prior mentioned game.
Some colurs fly at you with arms wide open while others make you play tag with them and thats what the gameplay beaks down to.
This game manages to not be casual game, but a just fucking lazy game.
Not as lazy as Sea Life Safari mind you.
Still, it is far from unbearable.
I'd rather this was "The most fun arcade game" in the end.
The other release Golf Tee Up!!
I thought this was actually really fun with decent graphics and easy to get the hang of gameplay.
In my opinion this is clearly the better of the two arcade games released this week.
My only grip about this game, is the focus feature.
While it is very, VERY cool. They decided to make two functions for it. When on the green during putting the developers decided to use the focus to preview where your shot will go, granted you have enough focus to see the shot through to the end.
While this is also kool, I am upset there is no option to see a line graph to think the puts out for myself alittle more.
Outside of that, this is a great game with very doable achievements to add to it. Worth the 800 points.
I really wonder why it took anyone soooo long to put a proper Gold game in the arcade (That mini golf game don't count). See you out there in the fairways people!

is it me or that golf game looks a bit like hot shots golf for the ps3 ?

Bah *breaks*
Also to make clear Schizoid is a game I still plan on purchasing despite what I had to say about it.
Both of them as a matter of fact.
#71 and 72

Hey Dustin how's is Schizoid? Fair? Good? Great?
RockerAnimeFreak @ Jul 9th 2008 3:38PM
I'm gettin both! =)
Fierod @ Jul 9th 2008 3:38PM
dude Uberschizoid is soooo fun. O some of the tougher levels I had to get my sister and take over the right analog stick for me lol
Boff @ Jul 10th 2008 7:52AM
I enjoyed both.
Schizoid:
I enjoyed the singleplayer. Can't understand why there was no demo of the online co-op in "the most co-op game ever". Shit like that gets right up my nose. Defies logic.
I was utter pants at the Uberschizoid mode though!! I obviously don't have the best coordination in the world!
Golf:
Enjoyed it. Customisable characters was a nice touch. Looks to be a quick fun game just to have a laugh on with friends.
BUT, couldn't move the camera/fly to ball to see where my shot was going to land. And also, on playing it through the second time I didn't touch ANY of the controls and just pressed 'A' all the way through. Birdie, Par, Birdie, Birdie. Better than when I was actually aiming and spinning the ball trying to allow for the wind, elevation etc.
Take from that what you will but I was a bit disappointed the Golf game could be done without really playing it properly.
I'll get Schizoid and might get the Golf, depending whether any of my mates pick it up or not.
