Confirmed: NG2 'Mission Mode' DLC on July 25th

The Mission Mode DLC will release later this month on July 25th and include 25 various mini-challenges where players are tested to stay alive the longest, kill with certain weapons and other tasks. And, of course, all high scores will be tracked via online leaderboards. The new game mode will not come cheap though, as it's slated to release for an "ouch" inducing 800 Microsoft points. Then again, NG2 fanboys should be used to expensive DLC by now anyway.

any achievements added with the new mission mode??
Gemini Ace @ Jul 10th 2008 1:36PM
Shouldn't this have been on the disc?
SadisticHam @ Jul 10th 2008 1:44PM
Exactly, I'll pass thanks. Far to soon for htem to have actually made it, they just held out on purpose.

I could get over this not being on the disc... but 800 points? Seriously? I can buy a new XBLA game for that.
This is what should have been 200 points. Not those armor sets.
Prox @ Jul 10th 2008 7:17PM
Agreed. 800 points is absurd. Maybe for 50 or 100 missions, but 25? Forget that. Too little for too much. As others have said, this should have been on the disc.

Not a fan. I seem to recall NG:Black having challenges built into the storyline as you played along.

They have those silly Tests of Valor things, but they soon get boring.
Makoto99 @ Jul 10th 2008 2:36PM
Maybe they're charging for it so they can pay Itagaki and the rest of the Team Ninja employees. :)

word.

Ninja Gaiden 2 is a great game but I will NOT be purchasing downloadable content. I would like to download a update that fixes the significant slowdown throughout certain levels.
Dwag @ Jul 10th 2008 8:47PM
Yep especially the one where all those fodder ninja attack you.
NummNutts @ Jul 11th 2008 8:48AM
This is totally absurd. I'm one of the suckers who bought the fiend pack, even though I much preferred the gratification of obtaining a costume in NGB AFTER beating the game. As everyone else has said, 200 MS is way too much for this. Bring it down, say maybe 400 MS, and I may purchase.
I don't know. The general concensus seems to be that people prefer NGB to NGII. Yet the overlords seem bent on alienating the fans of the series by putting every little bit of content up for enormous amounts of money. WTF!?
