Microsoft's E3 08 conference: let's play bingo!
E3 is right around the corner, and that means one thing. Press briefings. Of course, we're most excited about the Microsoft Press Briefing on Monday. What could MS announce? There are so many possibilities. Picking and choosing among all of them is almost like a game ... of bingo! Come join Xbox 360 Fanboy in our first annual game of Microsoft E3 bingo, where we fill a bingo card with some of the likely (and unlikely) things that could happen at Microsoft's Press Briefing. Click each image above for more info about each prediction.
Will Cliff Bleszinski walk on stage with his Lancer in tow once again? Will Bungie announce their next project? Will J Allard grace us with his beautiful eyes once more? The press briefing doors open at 9:30am on Monday, and the briefing itself starts at 10:30am. Be sure to join us for live coverage of the event. While you're at it you should check out the other Bingo Cards from around the Joystiq Network. And don't forget:

Do four corners count?
Lee @ Jul 10th 2008 12:11PM
Nintendo owns the rights to Eternal Darkness. If there is going to be a sequel, it will be for Wii.
Most everything else would be beast though...
Xav de Matos @ Jul 10th 2008 12:13PM
Silicon Knights has actually stated that they own the rights to the universe in the past.
Richard Mitchell @ Jul 10th 2008 12:18PM
Yeah, and Vivendi owns the rights to F.E.A.R.
Didn't stop Monolith from making a sequel.
LV426 @ Jul 11th 2008 9:21AM
1) The sanity system and the franchise are Nintendo's. If you want an actual sequel... or even a reasonably mentioned spin-off, you have to talk to them.
2) Richard, reread your OWN words and realize Monolith was hired as the developer in FEAR and Project Origins by Sierra/Vivendi! So... your point is... what?
Richard Mitchell @ Jul 11th 2008 9:29AM
LV426,
Project Origin is being developed by Monolith for Warner Bros. Interactive, not Sierra / Vivendi.
Cal @ Jul 10th 2008 12:12PM
I wonder if the unannounced gears 2 weapons (Cliff mentioned these in a recent vid) will the announced at E3...
Procris @ Jul 10th 2008 2:36PM
Well i think its safe bet we WILL see something new from Gears 2. I mean, all the new interview videos are basically rehashes of what we've already seen from the single player level and some multiplayer which was on the UT3 disk.
Personally i'd love to see 4 player co-op over live confirmed.
ZEBRA NINER @ Jul 10th 2008 12:13PM
Haha! Bingo, sweet. :)
Magic Whiskey @ Jul 10th 2008 12:13PM
I love this idea:):)
MDJ2010 @ Jul 10th 2008 12:15PM
My bet of most likely is Cliffy to appear with a Lancer and say something stupid!
Ya Boi Sly @ Jul 10th 2008 12:36PM
Hell Yeah. lol
Captain Blaggers @ Jul 10th 2008 12:19PM
Maybe I'm misunderstanding the rules of bingo, but doesn't the fact that everybody has an identical card mean that everybody will get the same squares filled in, meaning nobody wins?
Xav de Matos @ Jul 10th 2008 12:22PM
Considering you don't win anything I don't think it matters.
Ross Miller @ Jul 10th 2008 12:46PM
This is online co-op Bingo
Dustin Burg @ Jul 10th 2008 12:52PM
rofl!
john paul @ Jul 10th 2008 2:02PM
LOL @ Ross
Captain Blaggers @ Jul 10th 2008 7:34PM
Hahaha, fair enough.
StLouisRibs7734 @ Jul 10th 2008 12:29PM
Why is metal gear online here? I thought it should be MGS4
Xav de Matos @ Jul 10th 2008 12:32PM
We're not talking about MGS4.
StLouisRibs7734 @ Jul 10th 2008 12:30PM
BTW, i think it'll win by going from XBL Free to 60 gig, i believe everything thee except XBL free.
StLouisRibs7734 @ Jul 10th 2008 12:31PM
AND i think major should be the Peter Moore this year.
itsburnsie @ Jul 10th 2008 12:34PM
This came together nicely, great job fellas. I look forward to playing E3 bingo (or E3 THE HOME GAME!) next week.
Emissark @ Jul 10th 2008 12:35PM
The likelihood that Metal Gear Online is released on the 360 are about as likely that Halo or Gears is released on the PS3 late 2008, NOT GOING TO HAPPEN.
The only reason why Konami IDs are used is because on the PS3 we have a thing called private servers which allows each company to hosts their online experiences for smoother gameplay. This in no way signifies that MGO will be ported.
While MGO is a "separate" title it was packaged with MGS4. If Konami was interested in making money out of it, they would have sold it separate, but because it is such a crucial part of the MGS4 universe it needed to be packaged with it. Without MGS4, MGO is nothing. It is not a game for everyone and I don't think 360 owners who are used to their FPS will buy into it.
Besided 360 owners don't need MGO. There are plenty of other games to play on the system. Leave everything Metal Gear to Sony, the company that gave the series a chance way back in 1997.
Xav de Matos @ Jul 10th 2008 12:43PM
In all fairness it is obvious some of these are things we're taking wild stabs in the dark at. Based on the MAYBE NOT part of this you might notice this was one of our wild predictions. But still. Anything is possible.
PeacefulOutrage @ Jul 10th 2008 1:37PM
Hate to break it to you, but they are already selling Metal Gear Online separately in Japan. If Sony does have an exclusivity contract with Konami, it may not cover MGO.
Just so you know.
PeacefulOutrage @ Jul 10th 2008 1:38PM
I was also unaware that Metal Gear originated on the Playstation. Are you sure about that one, buddy?
Jcarpio @ Jul 10th 2008 1:54PM
Check your facts a little bit. As Metal Gear was a NES game back in the day.
A very fun, over the top view game.
Procris @ Jul 10th 2008 2:41PM
"I don't think 360 owners who are used to their FPS will buy into it."
While i agree the likely hood of MGO ever coming to 360 is almost zero, i love how you assume all 360 owners are into first person shooters like its the only genre on the 360.
Emissark @ Jul 10th 2008 3:05PM
Well I know the series started in the SNES. I know everything MG. But it wasn't until it was released for the PS that the series became critically acclaimed. What I meant to say was "second chance".
Sorry I assumed that 360 owners only play FPS but honestly how many of you actually play JRPGs, simulation, strategy or anything not related to Halo, Gears or CoD. Those JRPGs being released exclusively for the 360, how many of you are actually planning on buying those? I'm not exaggerating when I say that 360 owners like a particular type of game and PS3 owners like another particular types of games.
Jcarpio @ Jul 10th 2008 3:58PM
It was actually NES, Mr Metal Gear.. =)
I know that it was, because I never owned a SNES.
And it was quite acclaimed back then too.
MGS was a great game.. but that was the start of the long winded, get to the f-ing point era of the series.
MDJ2010 @ Jul 10th 2008 4:11PM
I can't wait to see what Emissark comes out with next to make more of an ass of himself.
MDJ2010 @ Jul 10th 2008 4:15PM
Although is you want to be really pissy about it the first Metal Gear game was actually developed for the MSX2 before being ported and modified for the NES. Both even had sequels before the PS game came out in '98.
Emissark @ Jul 10th 2008 5:38PM
You Xbots are picking at an insignificant detail and making a world of it while ignoring the overall content of the post which does not depend on such detail. This is so typical of you people. Someone makes a claim you can't refute so instead you start picking at the comment searching for imperfections all the while hoping it will excuse the fact that you have nothing to say. How very lame.
Irregardless, you "ain't"' going to see no MGO or MGS on your 360. You're going to have to settle for another Halo game or FPS of your choice.
As if you guys played RPGs not to mention JRPGs. Funny.
MDJ2010 @ Jul 10th 2008 6:24PM
Screw it, I'm going lowbrow, go play with your balls! I love how PS3 fanboys like you feel now that you have the best console in the world because one good game has come out. You are the definition of an idiot. You come on to a site dedicated to the 360 and bash people who play on it. I suggest if your console is so great that you either play it or go onto a site dedicated to it. You complete and utter tool!!!!!
MRCUR @ Jul 10th 2008 12:37PM
60GB HD and motion controller are going to happen.
A $50 price cut is also happening.
Lewis (GT: StoneRevolver) @ Jul 10th 2008 4:53PM
ORLY?
MRCUR @ Jul 10th 2008 5:22PM
Yes, really.
spamsphen @ Jul 10th 2008 1:34PM
You guys should have a contest where everyone submits what they think will actually happen on the bingo card and what won't. Then after E3 is over whoever guess it exactly right (or closest) should be congratulated! YAY! I'd say win something like MS points but I have a feeling to many people might win, so a congratulations is good enough for me :-p
Arnon @ Jul 10th 2008 1:37PM
Lets see a Metal Gear game on the 360 ;x...
Metal Gear Veteran:
Snake owns in his super wheelchair. Packed with rocket launchers, Machine guns, and to top it off.. a Nuclear bomb if anything goes wrong. Yup..
PeacefulOutrage @ Jul 10th 2008 1:39PM
I'm really looking forward to some god announcements. I don't think MS announced all of their games for this year yet and there's plenty of time to market new games before the end of the year.
Neuromancer @ Jul 10th 2008 1:41PM
I think the god announcement is going to be that CliffyB thinks he's a god.
Richard Mitchell @ Jul 10th 2008 1:45PM
Thanks Neuromancer for giving me a much needed laugh.
:)
I have the giggles now.
Bluemanrule @ Jul 10th 2008 1:45PM
Great list X3F. I believe all casual-related rumors will be true...price cut, 60GB HDD, motion controller & Avatars. The company line of rumors I also support...J-Allard, XNA & XBLA. Yung Cliff, Fable 2 & Gears co-op should also happen. All others will eventually happen with the exception of Xbox Live Gold being free. For some reason, forums forget that "Live" is already free due to the Silver Membership. Also, I can forsee a Platinum membership level based on Gamerscore and Reputation. NO extra fee.
Xav de Matos @ Jul 10th 2008 7:54PM
If you pop into that square we specifically talk about online multiplayer being free. as part of this prediction.
Aero @ Jul 10th 2008 1:57PM
So what happens in the slim chance that Avatars aren't announced? Do we have to give up our free space?
Xav de Matos @ Jul 10th 2008 7:57PM
Even with it, it's going to be real hard to win this one.
chubytuby @ Jul 10th 2008 2:42PM
Haha, I wish it was going to be free ;)
Young_Jey @ Jul 10th 2008 3:52PM
ya free xbox live would be great... if we wanted a service like playstation network wich shows y its better to pay for something. so plz stop promoting free xbox live, it's a bad idea
Joe @ Jul 10th 2008 4:03PM
i still don't think Avatars are real, mostly because 4chan had something to do with it. Either way I'll be surprised if they actually happen.
