Half-Life 2: Episode 3. The mere mention of the game makes our inner Valve-loving, Combine-hating, Crowbar-swinging heart go aflutter. That's why when mention of actual Valve supplied

Into the Pixel art exhibition, we began to weep with excitement. Then we realized that the artwork had the descriptor reading "Platforms: PC, PS3 and Xbox 360". Our weeps soon turned into a joyous outburst of all out waterfall tears.
Episode 3, it may be revealed at E3, but is guaranteed to eventually be hitting the 360. Yippy!

Will be nice to get another Valve-developed game, instead of an inferior port from some EA sweatshop.
Yes, I went there.
Mr.ESC @ Jul 11th 2008 12:54PM
That's not funny a lot of PS3 fanboys are very "butthurt" by that fact :P
MereHorseplay @ Jul 11th 2008 12:40PM
Good, been waiting to hear something about Half Life episode 3 for while. Cant wait to see what is in store for the Freeman.
Viridium @ Jul 11th 2008 12:43PM
Will this be DLC for Orange Box? Or a standalone retail title? I was just about to trade Orange in...
rkrone @ Jul 11th 2008 12:59PM
play Team Fortress 2, best MP game on LIVE
Viridium @ Jul 11th 2008 1:11PM
I've tried; the lag when people hop in and out (which seems CONSTANT) is horrible. There's a great game in there that seems hampered by Live.
I'd rather trade Orange in and then get TF2 only on Steam. I played a whole lotta TFC back in the day.
offday @ Jul 11th 2008 3:23PM
Don't even bother trading orange box in. It's the best deal on the 360, and you'd probably get about 10 dollars for it. Most places are selling it used now for around 30 bucks.
Tucker @ Jul 11th 2008 12:46PM
I know the cake is a lie, but Portal 2, please! And maybe some portal gun action in HL2E3?
Fozz @ Jul 11th 2008 12:52PM
Weeeeee!
Mr.ESC @ Jul 11th 2008 12:53PM
Awesome but I don't know if I'll buy it alone I mean the last 2 episodes lasted like 2 to 3 hours.
I would like to by it with Left 4 Dead or a new Portal.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 11th 2008 1:26PM
Agreed, I was kind of hoping for Portal 2/Episode 3 together or something.
NukeAssault @ Jul 11th 2008 2:11PM
Yeah i don't think i can justify buying it alone if its only so long... A new 'Orange Box' kinda deal would be great though.
MereHorseplay @ Jul 11th 2008 12:55PM
Don't trade the Orange Box. Gamestop only wanted to give me $12 for back in June towards Battlefield: Bad Company. Glad I kept it and traded GTA IV and R6V2 instead. Orange box has to much content to trade for just $12. Episode 2 was really short, episode 3 might be DLC if it's story is short too.
The Dom @ Jul 11th 2008 1:09PM
You do realize there's DLC for GTA IV coming out this fall, right?
Vcize @ Jul 11th 2008 2:11PM
And these things called ebay and craigslist where you can get a lot more than $12...
craig64 @ Jul 11th 2008 1:33PM
This is awesome news! I've actually been working my way through The Orange Box lately (got it for Christmas... just forgot about it), and I'm just about finished Half-Life 2... then moving on to the rest. I love the series though, so this is going to be sweet!
Vcize @ Jul 11th 2008 2:12PM
Do you need to have played Half-Life 1 to understand Half-Life 2, or are they completely independent stories?
Alex @ Jul 11th 2008 2:16PM
I never played HL1, and I can see that there are lots of back-references, but I mangaed OK without knowledge of the first one.
offday @ Jul 11th 2008 3:26PM
They're pretty much different stories. It's more like what he said. There are a few things here and there for the people who did play HL1, but it's not a requirement to understand what's going on.
But you really should try out HL1. I think you can buy it on Steam for like 10 bucks, and it's so old I gurantee any computer can run it. But it's one of the greatest games ever. It owned my junior high days lol.
MereHorseplay @ Jul 11th 2008 2:37PM
Yes Dom I realize there's DLC coming for GTA IV maybe this fall. But I'll be busy playing really good games this fall, such as Fallout, Mercenaries, Gears of War 2, The Force Unleashed, Tiberium, Far Cry 2, Aliens, and Saints Row 2.
Alexander @ Jul 11th 2008 6:39PM
I hope this either comes as $10-15 dlc for the Orange Box or with Left 4 Dead. I can't really see myself paying $30 or even $60 for this game. I'm not saying it won't be good (Episode 2 was epic) but Episode 1 was 4 hours and Episode 2 was only about 6 hours.
J.F. @ Jul 14th 2008 3:14AM
If they can manage to get H:L2, Episode 3 together with Portal 2 and Counter-Strike (Source?) on one disc (with maybe some new maps for Team Fortress thrown in), that would be Heaven.
