E3 Rumor: Geometry Wars 2 primed for surprise XBLA release this week

We have some juicy rumor news fellow Geometry Wars fanboys. According to one of Joystiq's reliable sources, Microsoft will be making a few Geo Wars news waves as early as tomorrow morning. Specifically, we're being told that Geometry Wars 2 will be officially announced during Microsoft's Monday press conference AND it may even make a surprise release to the XBLA later this week. If not tomorrow. Something that isn't all that far fetched seeing that we already have the game's achievements as we wait for its officially unveiling. Heck, we'll trade in Coffeetime Crosswords for some spastic Geo Wars 2 action, so make it happen Microsoft. Please make it happen.

I hope it maintains the 400 MS Points price!
The original was a hit due to it's sweet price and awesome gameply (here's hoping for some Multiplayer aswell).

Snakes? LoL. They are kinda tough when you don't pay attention when they spawn. For me, the hundreds of jacks are way worse. I've watched ever strategy guide in the world and know all the tips to beating them, but can't seem to do it in practical application! I'll defintely snatch this up for myself when it releases.

If it's 400 points it's a minute one buy for me! But weren't there rumors that it was going to be multiplatform? In which case it's weird that MS is announcing it.

Still the best, if not one of the best XBLA games (Geo Wars) I hope so, I will buy in a split second. Geo Wars (forget the name) on PGR 4 was awesome too!!

Meh. If they released this a couple of months ago i'd actually care. I sound negative but after playing a lot of Schizoid its honestly a far better game that sadly seems to be unappreciated.
Love Geo wars 1, despite how awful i was at it. I also agree the 400ms points is the real reason its been so successful. You try the trial and then you see its only 400ms points and you just can't refuse it.

This is a pretty safe bet, and i said I expect to see Geo Wars 2 to be released during E3 in the Crossword-coming-this-Wednesday-news article, but you know, when a games achievements are leaked it often means a game has gone through Microsofts certification process. So bet your mother we'll see Geo Wars 2 this week.

Fond memories of GeoWars. My first ever XBLA title. (Awww!)
But my god it's hard. I've got like 4 achievements for it.
