I love that voice over, is it from something?
webster1990 @ Jul 14th 2008 4:27PM
knew i recognized it, i found the poem online now
ryan @ Jul 14th 2008 6:51PM
i loved the first Gears of War trailer with that soft melody and this one works just as well with the voice.
This trailer in of itself kicks Resistance 2 in the balls. (yeah, i pitted the two games. what of it?) :P
chenry @ Jul 14th 2008 8:15PM
The words are from an Alan Seeger poem, "Rendezvous". I cannot place the voice though. I know the voice, but I cannot remember who it is.
Profnoxin @ Jul 15th 2008 1:16PM
I believe the voice over is by William Morgan Sheppard... might not be, but the voice is very similar.
Apeezee @ Jul 14th 2008 4:21PM
GOW trailers are always so good. It's a nice reprise from the normal "triumphant fast music" action game trailers
Ghostbuddy @ Jul 14th 2008 4:24PM
New Gears of War 2 screens/ concept art/ renders up at IGN. It includes new weapons ( Mini Gun, mortar) and enemies ( Some kind of cave crawling thing, and new Boomer variants).
Neuromancer @ Jul 14th 2008 4:24PM
With a name like Rendezvous I expected a gritty bathroom scene with Dom tapping Marcus's foot.
J @ Jul 14th 2008 5:52PM
Larry, is that you?
emirabal @ Jul 14th 2008 4:27PM
This was so movie like and that battle is so epic yet deadly, i see some foreshadowing here, looks like Dom might kick the bucket.
RedSonRising @ Jul 14th 2008 4:46PM
trailer looks good, nothing new though.. game looks like more of a war and less like an insurgency..
where is the dashboard preview? that 2 seconds at the end looks like a regular theme loading..
D dogg @ Jul 14th 2008 5:36PM
As far as I'm concerned, they could've kept the EXACT SAME GAMEPLAY and just continued the story, I would've bought it and I'm sure MANY a fanboy would've to.
Keep it in perspective, this is the Nintendo Revolution (Wii), this is Gears of War on Xbox 360.
D dogg @ Jul 14th 2008 5:37PM
*NOT the Nintendo Revolution (Wii)
Fierod @ Jul 14th 2008 4:37PM
dude that was the most epic (pardon the pun) trailer ever.
Dan Mowchan @ Jul 14th 2008 4:34PM
The GeoW trailers are always great, loved the old one for the first Gears and this one is almost as good. Plus, that battle looks like an absolute deathtrap.
emirabal @ Jul 14th 2008 4:45PM
This guys voice is F***ING AWESOME, this trailer is sick, i have been watching it over and over again.
Joe @ Jul 14th 2008 5:37PM
Did anyone notice Cliff had a red controller? Special Edition maybe?
Rick @ Jul 14th 2008 5:44PM
Yeah, they showed it on Gametrailers.com in the episode from Friday night. It's got custom art on the side, too.
cjwild @ Jul 14th 2008 5:39PM
Me want :) Mhmmmm.
Seriously though, wtf would be goin through your head in a battle like that? :/
Rick @ Jul 14th 2008 5:45PM
You just know one of those COGs is thinking "Did I remember to close the garage door when I left this morning?".

American Poet Alan Seeger. 1888–1916
Cool. Hope there's a HD one up on XBox Live soon.
xvertigenx @ Jul 16th 2008 11:06PM
Ironic he only lived to be 28...
Cal @ Jul 14th 2008 8:12PM
I preferred the Mad World trailer =(
chenry @ Jul 14th 2008 8:18PM
Does anyone know who's voice this is?
maest @ Jul 15th 2008 12:04AM
They are so good with these teasers. This one is up there with the Small World teaser.
The voice reminds me a bit of James Earl Jones reading Poe's Raven in the Simpsons but I doubt it is him.
maest @ Jul 15th 2008 12:05AM
*Mad World rather
