EA Sports head marketing ninja, Peter Moore, has announced Dynamic Player DNA for
NBA Live '09, which will update player attributes on a daily basis for connected consoles. Dynamic DNA also changes player attributes when trades are completed that takes the player's new surroundings into account when editing player stats. The system promises to keep the game continuously updated through the NBA season and is an addition we hope is added to all EA Sports games this season.

People who like sports games.
Like me.
Stupendous52 @ Jul 14th 2008 7:12PM
This is really cool if you are a big NBA gamer like me though. Personally, I'm loyal to 2k sports, so I'm hoping they take a queue from this and update more than one lazy time a year!

Hey Xav...
Do you have a link for this? I didn't see anything on the EA website.
I'm waiting for continuous automated player rating changes from season to season during online leagues with rollover rosters....that would be the hotttness.
Xav de Matos @ Jul 14th 2008 7:42PM
No link yet. This was just announced at the EA Press Conference.

Cool, I'll stay posted

could have told you about this ages ago did a survey where it was asking how interested i would be in paying for up to date stats guessed it would be ea that were behind it. expect to pay either a one off fee or a monthly subscription as per the survey
blank964 @ Jul 14th 2008 7:23PM
Unless this is a tremendous step up, I'll stick with 2K.
Stupendous52 @ Jul 14th 2008 7:24PM
True...if their gameplay doesn't improve, stuff like this will be irrelevant. 2k has been way better for years now.
Etchasketchist @ Jul 14th 2008 7:30PM
That's cool and all. But if the core gameplay is as crappy as NBA Live has been for the past few years, it doesn't matter how fancy you get updating stats.

i have to admit this sounds REALLY cool... but i refuse to buy EA games cuz of the whole annoying server issue... plus this doesn't seem like enough of a reason to skip 2k9 (which i hope is detailed at e3)

Does this player DNA have anything to do with paternity tests?
