Activision announces Marvel Ultimate Alliance 2: Fusion
Clarification: By create your own abilities we mean by using multiple character abilities to create combos of attacks, not meshing them into a new ability to use.

This makes me giddy mostly because my girlfriend and i played the original non stop and grew to love it do to lack of funds for newer games i personally cant wait
Etchasketchist @ Jul 16th 2008 12:42PM
Why do they even make these teasers? What a waste of time. An animated gif would've been just as good.

Longest. Trailer. Ever.

Hell to the YES! Nightcrawler/Hulk FTW!

"Superhero(TM)"???
Since when does Marvel own that word? Strikes me as a little bit too protective of their IP...
keegan @ Jul 16th 2008 12:57PM
They actually co-own the "Super-Hero" trademark with DC.
Gemini Ace @ Jul 16th 2008 1:07PM
If I remember right, they share that trademark with DC.

Anything + Fire >>>> Anything without Fire. The Human Torch was easily my most favoritest to play because he can fly AND blow things up with insane speed.

I thought the fire effect in the game was cool, so that's why I started using him... And never really switched throughout the whole game.

What powers you ask?
How about the the power of flight (that's levitation, Homes)!
How about the power to kill a yak from 200 yards away...WITH MIND BULLETS! (that's telekinesis, Kyle)
How about the power...to move you.

I thought Marvel Alliance was a huge letdown. I played the hell out of it - don't get me wrong - but it wasn't nearly as enjoyable or in-depth as X-men: Legends. Legends had a fleshed out "loot" system, which consisted of regular random drops and focused character building. All the cool RPG elements from Legends were way way too simplified in Ultimate Alliance while the graphics and gameplay were identical. If they bring back those RPG elements and have this new "fusion" aspect, I might just pick it up.
Plus, Ultimate Alliance had multiple game breaking bugs that they never truly fixed. I had all my stats and items wiped clean TWICE for seemingly random bugs I never saw reported in forums. And this was after they released the DLC and updates.

I heard that this is based on the Godawful Marvel crossover story "Civil War".
Walt @ Jul 17th 2008 3:00PM
Civil war a terrible cross over story are u serious? Did you even read it? Do you even read comics? Stupid comment by an ignorant person.
JohnHeist @ Jul 17th 2008 8:12PM
Civil War wasn't a crossover. It all happened in the Marvel Universe.
Marvel & DC do share the trademark of "SuperHero".
I HOPE this is based on Civil War, that story was incredible. Granted I only have the "Road to Civil War" and the main "Civil War" TPBs and Planet Hulk, still.
Jiggsaw @ Jul 20th 2008 10:52AM
anyone know if this is coming out on PSP? I plan to get it for 360 but I also like the portable option! Oh and Civil War was the crappiest thing to happen to the marvel universe in a long time. Tony Stark blows.... and I read and have more comics than I know what to do with however I am excited to hear that the beginning is supposed to start off with the plot from Secret War! I got my fingers crossed hoping the punisher will either be a playable character or at least make an appearance.
