E308: Microsoft conference Bingo results
Bing-NO! Yeah, we didn't win in our network-wide Bingo game. But we came close! A few things here might need some gentle coaxing to fit but we think it works. It isn't like we won anyway right? Gears of War 2 has a 5 player online co-op mode, not 4 players - but we're counting it just because. Halo Wars got a release date window for Spring 2009 - again counting it. The new SKU, price cut and 60GB are generally accurate and if plans weren't canceled at the last minute we would have seen what Bungie is working on (hint, it's a Halo game!). Don't get too mad that we're taking liberties with this list, if we really wanted to we could argue that the LIPS motion control would count for G5 but we're skipping it!
Lastly, we threw a dart at a wall of crazy and came up with Metal Gear Online, who knew one of those crazy ideas (Final Fantasy XIII) would have come true!
Prediction link wrap-up:
- Community Games wasn't highlighted, but it was in there.
- Fable 2 Online Co-op
- Gears of War 2, 5-player co-op
- 60GB hard drive, price-cut and new Xbox 360 SKU
- Too Human demo
- Dashboard Reborn
- Avatars
- Halo Wars release
- LIPS
- Top secret XBLA games

maybe i'm missing something but was Gears 4player co-op announced - i thought it was only 2player co-op :?
maybe you're thinking of the Horde Mode - but thats 5player.
T-BoNe254 @ Jul 17th 2008 12:03PM
Same concept. 5 > 4 so might as well mark it...
007craft @ Jul 17th 2008 2:29PM
No because horde mode does not = campaign co-op. As fun as horde mode sounds, The game is still confirmed to be only 2 player co-op so far. During the E3 Press briefing, Cliff even said hes gonna show off the 2 player co-op campaign. Nothing about 4 players was mentioned.
The_Punisher @ Jul 17th 2008 11:56AM
What's Halo Wars' release date? Did i miss it?
Muntrue @ Jul 17th 2008 12:41PM
Begin of 2009.. I guess that qualifies as release date
The_Punisher @ Jul 17th 2008 12:43PM
Pshh, that's no release date. Watch it get delayed to middle of 2009, then holiday 2009. Preview from joystiq looks good though, so they can take their time.
Jonah Falcon @ Jul 17th 2008 12:29PM
Stupid Alan Wake. Could have been a Bingo.
The_Punisher @ Jul 17th 2008 12:44PM
Alan Wake....lol
How long has it been since we saw ONE trailer? I've lost hope.
Intentless @ Jul 17th 2008 12:43PM
Lips has motion control built in to the mic if I read the article correctly....
Anticrawl @ Jul 17th 2008 1:08PM
It does, gamekyo had info about it even before E3 started.

Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts doesn't count as a 'Secret Rare Game'?
And more 'Motion Controller', I keep on thinking about the Motion LIPS Controller.

What about the secret rare game, couldn't the be Final Fantasy XIII? rare/exclusive cause it was only for PlayStation, but now its also for 360? Maybe that doesn't fit so well.
Fire Fawkes @ Jul 17th 2008 2:24PM
Rare as in the developer. Not as in hard to find.
SithLarry @ Jul 17th 2008 2:18PM
Wait... why is Metal Gear Online on there? Were we expecting it?
Conor @ Jul 17th 2008 5:22PM
Correct me if I'm wrong but there was Rock Band 2 in Mircosoft's press conference.
And the new Halo game wasn't announced but we know its coming so shouldn't kind of be a half tick?
SD @ Jul 17th 2008 6:31PM
I don't think a price reduction to get rid of some discontinued units counts as a "Price Cut". I still think the Arcade unit price should be reduced to match the Wii. (And price cuts on the other SKUs definitely wouldn't hurt.) Am I alone in this?

If you never deleted Dishwasher (the xna game) then you can still play it..... it loads up and says "0 days remaining" but lets you play it. I know it's only the demo, but you could still be demoing it.
Also, am I the only person that has noticed the "New Xbox Experience", is just Sony's XMB turned on it's side with pretty pictures. I love my 360, but Microsoft is a company that was founded on copying other companies ideas, and it continues to capitalize on it still to this very day. (Avatars=Miis=Home Avatars)
