Scares are, not surprisingly, a vital part of any survival horror game. The latest developer diary for Dead Space is all about scary moments, and the devs at EA Redwood Shores want to assure us all that the game will be full of 'em. The developers spend time talking about exactly what makes a scary moment scary and furthermore how Dead Space will go about utilizing them. It's kind of hard to be scared by the game when we're not actually playing it, but at least the dev diary gives us an idea of what to expect. It doesn't hurt that the game looks beautiful either.
I think they're doing a good job fromt he looks of that vid. Most of that stuff I wasn't expecting. Hopefully the game will be challenging though, cuz from what I've seen the enemies just kinda stand there, wave their arms, and go "rawr". It could be on the easiest setting though...
This is a definite rent for me. I am looking forward to a good scare. I can remember the first good scare I got from a video game was in Resident Evil 1 and you are walking down that first hallway in the mansion and that dog jumps through the window. I think I was 12ish...
The sound department seems to have done a very good job from what I could hear in the released diaries. I can´t wait for a serious sci-fi-horror adventure like this... plus, it looks horrifyingly good! :-)

Cant tell if this game is really good or really average.
If strategic dismemberment is such a big focus then what they hell is the point in a flame thrower?
It sounds like a neat idea but its not how I wanna play the whole game and every creature encounter.

Looks good, but does anyone else think that Glen Schofield, Executive Poducer looks a lot like Barry Chuckle?
