Madden 09 demo spikes the Xbox Live Marketplace

The Madden Test is a virtual drill simulator that puts players through various situations used to adjust the skill level of the game based on overall performance. After running four drills -- offensive and defensive rushing and passing -- the game adapts the difficulty which then fluctuates based on future performance. Long story short, if players are struggling the game gets easier and more difficult if they are mopping the field with their opponents. The second part of the demo is a single Madden Moment situation which is a mode that replays classic football scenarios and challenges players to complete specific tasks. The Madden Moment included in the demo gives players 1 minute and 30 seconds to score as the New York Giants versus the New England Patriots faced with a 4th and 1 situation -- a moment somewhat pulled from Super Bowl XLII.
If you're a football fan you owe it to yourself to check out the demo. After a quick play through we can easily say Madden hasn't looked this good in years. Also, the special edition comes with a playable version of Madden 93. We'll wait here while you go to preorder it.

It's true, Hazy. Several previews have mentioned the 93 version and the demo itself has it listed in the anniversary edition bullet list.

Will this version finally have replay for games played on XBL? What greater joy is there than showing your friend over and over in painstakingly slow replay the exact moment where you burned him for an 80 yard TD?

It's about time I say. I even bought a 64MB Memory Card from Sears for $5, so if I save a replay, I could bring it over to my cousins house or something.
Not only will you be able to save replays, but you will also be able to upload them online for everyone to view, just like they did in NCAA '08.

If NHL 09 came out with a playable version of NHLPA Hockey '93 I would buy it in a heart beat. Best hockey game ever. You could make guys heads bleed in that one.

The Collector's ("special") Edition also comes with NFL Head Coach 09, which they will be selling for $50 on its own. Head Coach is like a video game version of fantasy football. Many hate it but it's a pretty cool management sim if you are into that thing.

This is actually a horrible demo. No defense included, and you only get a minute and a half. I can understand not letting you play a full game, but at least a 5 minute quarter would make more sense.
