Soulcalibur IV revival music, customization DLC hits Live

Also available on the XBLM is actual content for the game! The Customization Equipment 1 pack clocks in at 100MS points and includes a number of new items to use for character customization. The content pack is also revival themed in that it includes equipment Soulcalibur fans will recognize from previous games in the series -- including armor sets and headgear for a number of characters.

Christ it annoys me when they release content before the game is even out.
Money-grabbing shenanigans are afoot!
Dale @ Jul 31st 2008 5:42PM
I've had it for a couple of days now.
Delirium @ Jul 31st 2008 4:56PM
The game is out. I'm not sure on release dates elsewhere, but it is out in the US.
Oh, and the game sucks. I just received it today in the mail and off it goes tomorrow in the mail. No way in hell is the soundtrack and customization garbage worth it.
Jackattaak @ Jul 31st 2008 5:00PM
Oh, its out 1st August (tomorrow) in the UK. Its 10pm here.
ccc @ Jul 31st 2008 5:02PM
Your a moron if you think this game sucks either that or you are really bad at it.
this game is amazing and deserves mention amongst the best games of 08 easly.
Delirium @ Jul 31st 2008 7:12PM
I guess I'm a moron who used punctuation and grammar correctly. Explain 15 minute story mode then. Easily best story mode ever right? The game is decent, at best.
ccc @ Aug 1st 2008 12:44AM
It's primary function is a 1 on 1 fighting game man thats all. The story mode is to be considered little more than extra stuff. The game looks and plays amazing with a deep DEEP fighting system for players to master.
If you didn't know that then you really had no buisness commenting on the game.
TreyTable @ Aug 1st 2008 8:40AM
The game sucks? How? It's the kind of game where people new to the game (or those not fond of most fighting games) can mash buttons and still look like they know what they are doing all the way to those looking for a real challenge who understand just how far down the rabbit hole the game can get. But I would stress this is the kind of game where an arcade stick would be good to have, and they can be easily found at amazon for $59.99. ... I haven't played online yet. So maybe that's where your soggy bottoms comes from.
Joop @ Aug 1st 2008 11:20AM
Delerium, complaining about the depth of story mode in a fighting game is about as sensical as complaining about the depth of melee combat in, say, Mass Effect.
If you returned a fighting game in one day based on the story, fighters clearly aren't your forte.
joey @ Jul 31st 2008 4:59PM
Let me know when there's a ring tone for it.
MC Double Def DP @ Jul 31st 2008 5:04PM
the game is great. to those who think it absolutely sucks, I don't know what you were expecting.
I want to know when we get to "download" Darth Vader. And better not charge for it because it has already been proven to be coded on the 360 game disc itself.
ryan @ Jul 31st 2008 5:11PM
i really hate the trend in games today where we can download bits and pieces of the game so close around the launch window.
bits and pieces that SHOULD have been in the game to begin with. like that empty space for Darth Vader...ugh.
Vcize @ Jul 31st 2008 6:41PM
Stop it already. If DLC didn't exist not only would you STILL not have Vader, but you'd have no option to get him ever outside of buying the PS3 version.
This is what SC does with multi-platform version of their game. Exclusive characters per console. They did it before DLC even existed.
Quit acting like this is an effect of DLC ruining content you would have otherwise gotten for free. There are plenty examples of that, and this is not one of them. Now, instead of having NO option to get the character AT ALL, you may have the option to pay for him.
In short, it's better than nothing, which is what you would've gotten otherwise.
ryan @ Jul 31st 2008 8:55PM
you really don't get it do you?
there's a SPACE for Vader. a preemptive pullout just so we have to spend more money for what was an "exclusive" character.
i can see buying DLC down the line, but having it available at launch? that's just ripping off consumers in stealth.
Vcize @ Aug 1st 2008 9:39AM
They put the space for Vader in there because they were going to be adding him via DLC. If there wasn't DLC, there wouldn't be a space for him, and he wouldn't be there at all. Just like last time.
ryan @ Aug 1st 2008 10:57AM
see that's the thing you aren't getting.
he was prepared to be DLC when he could have easily been placed next to Yoda from the start. like I said it's ripping you off in stealth.
Joop @ Aug 1st 2008 11:24AM
Ryan, it's worse than that. If you look at the size of the item pack, it's 108K. There is no way they fit all of those item models into 108K, so what you are downloading is actually just a code to unlock the models that already exist on the retail disc. The same thing goes for the bonus content of the Limited Edition. You're paying extra in order to use items that you technically already own. I wouldn't be surprised if Vader's data was already on the disc as well.
THAT is some bullshit.
ryan @ Aug 1st 2008 2:05PM
really? lol, on the disc already? wow.
so we bought it already and now we have to buy the key. wow.
Schmullus @ Jul 31st 2008 5:13PM
Really, does this surprise anyone? I mean, this is Namco Bandai we are talking about. We can't forget all the DLC for Ace Combat 6 that, aside from the Ace of Aces missions, are just paint schemes with modified stats for the existing aircraft in the game. Hell, Ace of Aces just consists of extra hard versions of the campaign mode.
Is it horse armor? Probably not. But I'll be damed if I didn't see this coming. Namco Bandai is going to nickel and dime us with DLC yet again.

Gah, stupid double post...
ccc @ Jul 31st 2008 5:20PM
give it time it'll show up. The comment that is:)
Chase @ Jul 31st 2008 5:48PM
Releasing DLC so soon is disgusting. If this content was available prior to the game's release, it should have been added on the disc. Shame on you, Namco.
Tony @ Jul 31st 2008 6:31PM
I'm not a fan of this either, but companies finalize what will be on the disc months ahead of it going gold... then not to mention the whole going gold process, shipping, etc.
They likely worked on this during the down time following all of that... but, really, what's the difference? These would have come out no matter what. Why be less annoyed a month from now?
Gamertag: GOPAL892005 @ Jul 31st 2008 7:05PM
should have been included on the disc, but if the content was created after the game went gold, then the DLC should be free IMO.
Kia @ Jul 31st 2008 7:47PM
I'm not complaining. Any new customization parts = good times!
Big Filth @ Jul 31st 2008 11:41PM
you people crying really must have no business sense whatsoever. it's really surprising until I realize most of you complaining are 12.
*facepalm*
Exo @ Aug 1st 2008 12:47AM
the dlc parts are only 100KB download, so its on the fucking disc already, and they are making you pay to have it.
FUCK NAMCO, im glad i waited and didnt preorder. they can go kill themselfs
Collin @ Aug 1st 2008 8:17AM
You people are getting so upset over what amounts to less than $1? Get a job you lazy idiots.
Exo @ Aug 1st 2008 3:11PM
no your an idiot for paying a dollar for content thats already on the disc.
Collin @ Aug 1st 2008 3:48PM
No you an idiot who replies to stupid comments on the internet. Go panhandle a dollar so you can wear a new silly hat.
Exo @ Aug 1st 2008 4:32PM
Yea i never said i was poor retard, a dollar isnt the problem, its a fact that they are still ripping you off cause you actually already paid for the content and its still locked, they are making you pay even more for it.
so why dont you go back to school so you can be slightly less stupid?
Kizzle @ Aug 1st 2008 10:24AM
...is the music playable in the game, as in you hear it while playing? Or is it just something where you play the tracks on a music player within the game?
Not that I'm interested for fifteen fucking dollars.
Ujn Hunter @ Aug 1st 2008 10:34AM
The music is available in game... as stage music. The extra armor & things is just a key unlock that is on the disc, however it is only $1.25 so I don't really mind. I want to have the old costumes for fighters. I'm not thrilled with the $15 price of the music however, I wish it was more like $6 or something. Unless it was playable in Rock Band or something also.. hehe
Roto13 @ Aug 1st 2008 5:38PM
I'm wondering if there will ever be a hacked save file or anything that gives you access to everything that's already on the disc. God knows I'm not paying for anything that I could easily have access to if I was willing to hack for it.
