Too Human is too gold
Fans of cyber-Norse mythology rejoice! Microsoft has announced that Silicon Knights' Too Human has officially gone gold. That means that after ten long years, it's done. The press release also notes that the Too Human demo -- currently available on Xbox Live Marketplace -- "has already been downloaded more than any other action demo on Xbox LIVE Marketplace in its first week of availability and has been one of the top played titles on Xbox LIVE overall." Keen observers will note that the Too Human demo landed at number 8 on the most recent list of top Live games played. The game is scheduled to hit retail shelves on August 19.

I must say, I have been so hot-cold-hot-cold and now hot again on this game. I have actually pre-ordered too human making it the first pre-order for me in 2 years! Unfortunately, the release date falls on my 1 year anniversary with my lovely girlfriend. August 20th FTW!
bendak @ Jul 31st 2008 4:02PM
The post didn't mention it but the demo has already surpassed 900,000 downloads in the first couple weeks its been out.
Also since it's been downloaded more than any other action game demo that means it's beaten both ninja gaiden 2 and devil may cry 4.
ryan @ Jul 31st 2008 5:15PM
to be fair, Ninja Gaiden 2 didn't have much demo love before the game came out.
ryan @ Jul 31st 2008 5:16PM
and by love, i do mean it was up on May 30th in Japan, pulled the next day and not released till June 6th, 3 days after it's N. american release date.

Congrats and Godspeed to Mr Dyack and the whole Silicon Knights Team. Hopefully this game sells a bunch and it all turns out good for them.
Congrats to you too Diggystyle.

DiggyStyle @ Jul 31st 2008 4:19PM
You have been away from the internet for a while huh? If you do a little searching on this fine website, you can find out how to unlock all 5 classes in the demo. Its easy and it works.
guidedbyvoip @ Jul 31st 2008 4:26PM

I cant wait for the game. Glad to see the project done and almost out the door in to my xbox.
The_Punisher @ Jul 31st 2008 4:47PM
Too bad the game kinda sucks. For me, story is most important (hence why MGS is probably my favorite series, as well as JRPG's like Lost Odyssey), and the story in the demo was laughable. The characters were unconvincing, and the story was just stupid and predictable at best.
It combat is decent, but nothing to get too excited about.
SadisticHam @ Jul 31st 2008 5:01PM
What was predictable about the story? o.0
It barley made any sense, in fact I'd go as far as to say their was little to no story to predict because it was a demo. XD
goliathsdkfz @ Jul 31st 2008 5:18PM
MGS's story was silly by the end. It just added way too many elements and emotions that really were boring.
The_Punisher @ Jul 31st 2008 6:38PM
Your opinion golia. As a huge fan of the series, i loved every minute of it.
As for Too Human, it's one of the first stories i literally lol'd at it was so bad. It was like those parts in Halo 3 when it took itself too seriously.
(oh, i went there)
Arnon @ Aug 1st 2008 1:23AM
Punisher.. I don't think you realize that there was no story in the demo. Possibly due to the fact that it's a demo, and you only played through half a level.
ZEBRA NINER @ Jul 31st 2008 4:54PM
w00t!
Alex @ Jul 31st 2008 5:12PM
The two biggest selling games on the 360 (Halo 3 and GoW) don't have downlodable demos. It's ridiculous.
But then Too Human and crap like Vampire Rain get demos. Why not put the Xbox's flagship franchise on a demo?
SadisticHam @ Jul 31st 2008 5:21PM
Because you'd buy it with or without a demo.
Dirty @ Jul 31st 2008 6:24PM
They dont need a demo. You know what halo is going to play like. No one is waiting to buy Halo without trying it out first.
Christopher @ Jul 31st 2008 5:45PM
TOO bad, it sucks TOO much
Clinton oxendine @ Jul 31st 2008 7:14PM
hold on he said played on xbox live like it has a multiplayer part in it that you can play with another person. if it does i missed it but the demo was super fun but i have to try the unlocked characters
Dirty @ Aug 1st 2008 1:44PM
whenever your playing any game AND logged into xboxlive your being tracked to what game your playing and how long your playing it for. This is also how your friends can see what game your playing or watching a movie.
leo2178 @ Jul 31st 2008 8:25PM
Thank God for demos.
Before the demo I would probably have picked this up.
But now that I dealt with those controls and that camera, I wouldn't even rent it..
xX FearHAVOK Xx @ Jul 31st 2008 10:02PM
everyone i talk to complains about the controls, and the camera. i honestly do not find a problem with the camera. you don't even have to control it. and about the controls.. whats so hard? point the right stick in the direction you want to attack, and you go flying towards the enemy. easy huh?
Arnon @ Aug 1st 2008 1:25AM
The only reason people are complaining about the controls is because it's something completely different (I don't count Monster Hunter because those were so basic it didn't even matter). The controls are fluid(already proven), and they react instantly. To me? They pulled off the control scheme with flying colors.
Fire Fawkes @ Jul 31st 2008 10:42PM
I really wanted to like this game but I just never got used to the weird combat system or control. I've played the demo multiple times trying to force myself to "get it" but it just never clicked. I hope it sells well, but I wont be helping that cause.
