WRUP: Geometrical crack edition

Getting both Soul Calibur IV and Geometry Wars 2 this week seems something like an embarrassment of riches. Truth be told, we have been nearly incapable of pulling ourselves away from Geometry Wars 2. It has quite honestly impacted our work-flow around here. It is the sole reason why this edition of WRUP has arrived so late. Comparing an addicting game to crack is an overused metaphor to be sure, but we find ourselves with a single metaphor that's more apt. Geomery Wars 2 is a helluva drug.

What will your drug of choice be this weekend?

I just picked up Unreal Tournament 3 today and I LOVE IT!! besides Halo 3, its the best Xbox Live game IMO. plus, there's split screen online! i'll be hittin that up plus Halo 3 all weekend with my brother.

It's hard for me to spend 60 bucks on games these days. I use to drop it in a second, but I'm getting older, and I think that's stopping me.

Anyway. My launch day 360 just got the red rings of death a couple days ago. Luckily MS is still willing to fix it for free. Just sent it in yesterday, so I have a couple Xboxless weeks ahead. I'll probably pass the time with Pokemon Pearl and maybe some Patapon on my PSP. Things that rhyme with P FTW!

More Bad Company and trying to get my clan back into Call of Duty 4. BF:BC is a fine multiplayer game, but if you want to play with more than one other friend, good luck.

I'm also trying to track down a Blockbuster copy of Unreal Tournament 3.

Besides XBLA games, nothing will really pique my interest until September 30th.. (Silent Hill)

Ironic metaphor there Richard, given that Geo Wars 2 seems like one of the best suited games to play while chemically enhanced.

Anyway, I'll be tucking into that, grinding through Lost Odyssey, and conquering the world in Civ Rev. Maybe a touch of Burnout Paradise and/or GRID to fulfill my driving game needs.

I just got into the Battlefield Heroes Beta, so I might try that out. Also am going to my buddy's house to do some Geo Wars 2 and Soul Calibur 4 Multiplayer. :)

BTW - how do you get up on that X3F leaderboard?

I have been playing mad crazy Unreal 3 it is unbelievable and when I'm not playing it I'm slashing through Soul Caliber 4 which also is amazing.
I'm almost finished with both at this point but man what a pair of games to be torn between.

Keep at it, you'll get there. Trick is doing a little section at a time, corralling (and killing) some of the squares, then crossing to another section....

Though to be fair I died 0.000000001 seconds after blinking out that last tile and getting the achievement.
