Too bad, because I would have bought it if they had releasde a demo and it was any good.

No demo, no sale. Games cost too much now a days to just go out and pick one up, and sure some games might get good reviews (e.g. GTAIV), but some people might not just like it (I did though BTW).
And what the hell is up with no split screen nowadays, no wonder the Wii is selling like hotcakes. Not a knock towards Sony or Microsoft, but for Multi-player on the Wii to cost at the least around $350 (System, game, controller), For the 360 and PS3 its more around $700 (2 systems, 2 games, don't forget Live for the 360). Granted it's not one person spending all that it's kinda ridiculous...

Yeah.... but for those of us that love Midnight Club (keep in mind this is the 4th entry in the series), it's not so much just going out and picking one up as it is getting the latest entry in a beloved franchise. I'm guessing Rockstar's confident the fan base is big enough that lack of demo will be a non-issue.
As for lack of split-screen? Not that I'm into conspiracies at all... but it's much easier to sell XBL Gold accounts when the only multiplayer is online...

That makes it a rental...

no split screen is lame. it's severly annoying on GRID, but now that Rockstar is getting in on no split screen too, it' just starting to piss me off now. maybe NFS will not be so chinsy and actually let you play someone in the same room.
and if Burn-Out can "capture the essence" with a demo, Rockstar should find a way too.

+1 for no demo no sale.
Looked promising in the trailers, but without a demo I'm not going to purchase it. It'll either be a rental or try to borrow it from someone.

Don't worry a demo will come out if the game sucks and it has been out for a while. With Fallout 3 releasing the same day, and no demo I wonder how well this game will sell.

This makes me mad. And sad.

not easy being cheesey @ Oct 15th 2008 10:41AM
It's not fair. Everyone doesn't like to play online. It's nothing more fun than tlking trash to the guy next to you and making then pass the stick when they lose. When your online you dont know who the heck.(wanted to say hell) your playing against. And strangers online can be real a-holes at times, and they sometimes cheat. Besides the multiplayer industry was built from split screen, why are they turning their backs on it now? And about the demo... Yeah that sucks donkey testicals. ( and if I mispelled that please try not to be a d_ck about it.)
PEACE
