I think that this is a GREAT idea. Cause i think avatars are not useful for the mature (21+) gamer. So keeping them exclusive in games geared toward younger audiences will keep me happy.

...Said the cat wearing the bowtie.
;)
Apeezee @ Aug 5th 2008 4:10PM
Hahahaha, touche teacher!
VPhoenix @ Aug 5th 2008 4:12PM
Agreed. It would be simply bizarre for these avatars to be popping up in M-rated games anyway.
bboston7 @ Aug 6th 2008 4:41AM
It would be fun to mess up my avatars face in GTA. I would use Niko's full arsenal on it.
Manvir (El Homer) @ Aug 5th 2008 4:15PM
=O
Shashwat @ Aug 5th 2008 4:17PM
Avatars are incredibly stupid. Nobody would want to be seen playing Gears of War 2 with their avatar. Their ugliness demands that they be killed with fire and rocketed out to space.
joey @ Aug 5th 2008 5:30PM
At the very least, chainsaw one.
e.Missark @ Aug 5th 2008 4:17PM
O for f$cks sake! Here I was thinking I could shoot my avatar to death and watch its little cartoony ass bleed on the ground while I chainsaw another avatar.
DOH!
Magic Whiskey @ Aug 5th 2008 4:18PM
Think about how disturbing it'd be to see a Mii-like avatar in a Gears of War game with a Lancer. That'd freak me out much more than a Locust..
..same with the Muppets.
ZEBRA NINER @ Aug 5th 2008 4:51PM
Muppet Swedish chef is the scariest... HE DOESN'T HAVE EYES!!!
andyg8180 @ Aug 5th 2008 4:18PM
i was hoping to teabag a couple people....
ahhh welll
Toby @ Aug 5th 2008 4:33PM
I want Cog armor for my avatar =(
Timur Tabi @ Aug 5th 2008 4:52PM
I'm confused. How would an avatar integrate into these games? Would the avatar literally appear as a playable character in the games?
jkdoug @ Aug 5th 2008 5:06PM
See: Wii Sports
Apeezee @ Aug 5th 2008 5:06PM
It could be incorporated in a number of ways, terrifying ways. But it would seem that they are going to keep it to board games and such. The Wii incorporated their Mii's into the actual game play, so it wouldn't be too much of a stretch for xbox to do it. I just don't wanna see it in my games. :)
Jonah Falcon @ Aug 5th 2008 4:53PM
Rats. I wanted to see an Avatar being blown to blood bits in Left 4 Dead. Or have Niko see a Gwen Stefani Avatar and have a little hot coffee with her.
Dirty @ Aug 5th 2008 5:21PM
No hot coffee avatar edition?
Robert Aitchison @ Aug 5th 2008 6:22PM
I know that AO games in general are just this side of theoretical but seriously the idea of an AO game that uses the Avatars sounds reeeeeallly interesting :)
Eddie @ Aug 5th 2008 6:26PM
I'm with the rest of you. I wanted to perform unspeakable, unholy and inhuman acts against my own Avatard or those belonging to and bearing the likeness of my friends and enemies.
This is officially Avatarded. And so help me MS, if I can't customize my Avatard to look like a 12 year old Malaysian boy... there will be Hell. Toupe.
Tann @ Aug 5th 2008 7:29PM
i don't think there was any need for this, as anyone making a game rated teen+ would probably not think about having avatars used in game..
ThomasJay @ Aug 6th 2008 6:02AM
I guess I won't be seeing my avatar wielding a chainsaw any time soon.
