Survey: Xbox 360 has the most console developers
We're not exactly how much impact this will have the next time a civilized conversation with a gaming buddy sinks into the depths of fanboy warfare, but here it goes: According to a recent survey conducted by Game Developer Research, as reported by IGN, there are more developers working on Xbox 360 projects than there are on the Playstation 3 or Wii. Specifically, 78% of those surveyed were working on 360 projects, 58% were working on PS3, and 42% were working on Wii. As the numbers imply (notice they don't add up to 100%), they include both cross-platform games and developers that happen to be working on more than one console. This also means that the 360 doesn't necessarily have the most games in development. Still, it has the most individual developers of any console.Now just find some way to spin that into a catchy slogan and you've got some new fanboy ammunition (fanmunition?) to go with your new (toy) fanboy gun.

At the end its gonna always boil down to the quality of the games, so if i got 25 dudes selling chocolate on the corner and only making me 1000 bucks a week but i got the 5 dudes in the bodega selling that purple and pulling in 1500 a week its cuz hes got quality stuff, thats what its gonna boil own to for these guys.
Ultimately we as the consumer win because we get to have the choice of all these different products.

Thats what is so funny about this generation of consoles to me. Even more so since the 360 has so much Japanese developer support.

Let's see how well they score Fable 2. I would laugh so hard if it too got a 6.75 and all you will really be left with to play on your 360 this fall is GeoW 1.5.

What happens if LBP is a flop? I've been hearing from people that it's kinda stupid.
The 360 has an ample amount of games coming out this holiday.. While.. I can only think of 2 for the PS3. Resistance 2 and LBP.

Hell.. the first Fable has an average of an 85 on Metacritic, and it was considered a disappointment. Imagine if Fable 2 isn't.

This numbers do not include the community created games like the ones that are/will be possible with XNA. Nintendo and Sony need to come up with competitor to XNA to remain viable.

Its been said 2008 is the year of the PS3, and I thought it to be true, but I still can't fine a good reason own one, honestly.
I want to own every new system eventually, but between my Wii and 360 I have no reason to play a PS3. A friend owns one and plays Metal Gear Solid 4 yet he seems more interested in Gear of War 2.

I have a question for PS360 fanboys.
Can somebody give me a decent reason as to why they care about the sales of another system in a region they don't live in? Specifically Japan, everywhere I go PS3 guys always say something like “well its selling better in Japan” even though he lives in North America. Its really pointless.
And I suppose their will be a topic about how 360 outsold the PS3 this week and hardcore fanboys will brag about the systems success in the region where they either have to wait or never get Japan's experience with these consoles.
Unless you live in Japan and have a reason to be happy ALL fanboys should stfu about Japan and worry about gaming in there region.

actually, there's a very logical reason. the are some japanese game developers that make great games for the japanese market. some of these games then make it over to the US if they are successful. since the games are intended for a japanese market, they are developed for the dominant system in japan (PS3), so 360 owners are much less likely to get these games.
basically, you want the system you have chosen to be the dominant one everywhere because developers are located everywhere and often make games intended for their local market. the good ones of these games then make it to other markets, but usually only on the system that was dominant in the local market.
a good counter example to this is, of course the next final fantasy game.

Well that makes enough sense to me.
Hopefully PS3 overthrows 360 next week(not likely) that Xbox 360 has enough J-RPG and FPS, and all types of good games out and more in the future.
The PS3 is getting better, but it can still use a little push. Some more J-RPG and more variety games all round would be good.
As a PsWii60 owner I could only wish that my other consoles don't lag behind the other. I play each system as much as the other respectively.
The 360 is handling itself pretty damn well. 360 doesn't even need Japan support like PS3 needs it. Its good with or without it.
My PS3 is getting there but it needs a little push as for as games are concerned.
My Wii is ugh being a Wii.
