Rock Band may never make it to Australia

Word on the rumor street is that Australian retailers are not interested in stocking the ginormous Rock Band bundles, because of the shelf space it takes up and the fact that Rock Band is nearly a year old with a sequel releasing soon. Another reason: Guitar Hero: World Tour is newer and cheaper which some retailers may see as an equal replacement for Rock Band on their shelves. Taking this retail rumor one step further, it's entirely possible that (for the same reasons) Rock Band 2 won't reach Australian shores either. Sad too ... Australians don't know what they're missing and how fun it is to sing to Weezer tracks.

I never thought i would have to say this to you Dustin, but PLAY OTHER SONGS BESIDES ONES MADE BY WEEZERRRRRRR. Like B.Y.O.B for example, now thats a good song

New weezer sucks. They have become MTV sell outs.

Ouch. Sucks for Australia. Stock up on points, friends - you're going to need them with Guitar Hero's forced bundles & expensive tracks.

just y'know, stick them in those Joey pouches and train the roos to sell them door to door. there, problem solved, Aussies!

At least you can't say Harmonix didn't try. Only have the retailers to blame.

Best. Photo. Ever.

And they do have their priorities straight as they stock oversized cans of beer on retail shelves. Oy!

I love my Xbox, but if I live out side of NA i'd get a PS3 just because it's region free.

On one hand this sucks, on the other hand it might make them think twice about delaying releases and get their fingers out of their asses and consequently not let this happen to this degree in the future.
I'm of the opinion that by now anyone in Australia who wanted the game has already imported it rather than wait for them to sell a year old game at 3 times the price of America.

Loving that pic. Makes me want to train an army of kangaroos to take over the world (or at least Wyoming).
Captain Bluey @ Aug 15th 2008 8:48PM
I have a kangaroo just like the one in the picture. Its a pet in my backyard. Seriously. In Australia you can walk down the main street and see them jumping all over the place :-)
Hopefully we will get RockBand 2. At least the wait would have been worth if, if the quality of the instruments in #2 are improved from #1. Fingers crossed.

I hope you're joking. Because if you're not, you're either a liar or you live out in the sticks. I have yet to walk outside my house in Sydney and see a roo. Heck, even out in rural NSW I had to drive out of town to spot one.
Captain Bluey @ Aug 17th 2008 3:58AM
It was a joke mate. :-)

I'm from Roo-land and I gotta admit, that picture made my day LOL :D
Jonah Falcon @ Aug 17th 2008 5:51PM
WHAT? NO WALTZING MATILDA ON ROCK BAND?!

I love my home country of Australia and I often try to communicate to people on the international internet community that we're not all a pack of backwards, hick, morons.
Then we do stuff like this, or like banning Fallout 3 or GTA IV. Stupid backwards, hick country.
