Force Unleashed demo attacks the XBLM this week

Just as Lucas Arts promised us back in July, a new Star Wars: The Force Unleashed demo will be released to the Xbox Live Marketplace this week. More specifically, on the morning of Thursday, August 21st. Also as promised, the Force Unleashed demo will include a tutorial mode to master the Force Grip power and a complete level of gameplay set in a TIE Fighter Construction Facility where we're guessing a bunch of objects explode real good. May the force be with you (and also with you).

Can't wait to try the demo. The trailers look awesome.

From the gameplay videos though, it looks like it's really unfortunate that this game is rated T. I'm not really one for violence just for the sake of violence, but something just seems wrong about cutting up people with a lightsaber in a beat 'em up game and the stormtroops just falling over backwards with no dismemberment or anything of the like.

I'm so not in the mood right now for Star Wars anything..but I'm looking forward to trying this at least.

You know how when a close friend also likes something you do, but he won't shut up about it? Ever? That's how I feel Star Wars kind of seems like right now; it's way too commercial, it's in your face in terms of where you can't hide from it, and it's enough anymore for me to want to hide in a corner for a few years and wait for this up-surgence to die down a bit. I kinda need to forget about the house that Lucas built for a while so I can remember why I liked it all to begin with.

Still... the game mechanics look cool so far. I'm just betting the yet unnamed Apprentice is going to be named in the game, and it'll be something incredibly stupid like Obi-Wan Kenobi's long lost son or brother or something. I'm sick of this 'prequel' style of tying in every character to someone else.

His last name is Starkiller (Lukes Skywalkers name in the original script before it was changed, no relation though)

Wow..that's a letdown if it is 'Starkiller'. I mean, nice name and all, but since they were essentially hiding the name all these many months, I was expecting something that meant something..not just to us SW fanboys.

Huh? You said it was pissing you off the way they tied in every character in prequels, but then say it's a letdown when it doesn't.

sweet, i just peed myself a little.....okay maybe a lot.

plus, if i remember correctly i think i heard an interview where one of the developers says the ending in the demo is actually a little different then the ending of this level in the game. so when i play the game i wont feel like this level is old news.
