"A small update" has just been posted over on the official
Alan Wake forums by Remedy's own MikaRMD, aimed at giving everyone a secure, warm, fuzzy feeling that the dev team is still hard at work on
Alan Wake. You know, just in case you thought it kicked the development bucket or something. Also, in their post, Remedy candidly mentions that with
Alan Wake's development, "if everything had gone perfectly smoothly there probably would be a game out for you guys to play already." Going on to say that "designing a completely new game can be hard, and sometimes you need to take a detour to find the best route forward." In other words and to be frank, development of
Alan Wake has been a b*tch!

This is one game I have had absolutely no interest in, but I also had no interest in GoW development and that game rocked.

Chartreuse is the new Black, and Alan Wake is the new Duke Nukem Forever.

I take it then that it's not on for a fall release as I so hopefully read in x360 mag (UK) :-(
I've been excited for this game for a very long time indeed but as more and more months pass with not so much as even a regular update on it's progress I start to lose faith, it better be bloody worth it, I've been waiting for a long time for a decent survival/horror/thing thats more RPG than slow paced TPS and this could fill the void nicely.

They've taken this long; keep going, dev team! If your code still sucks, we can wait another year..or whatever..
Don't make up some imaginary release deadline for yourself now Remedy, it won't do you any good. Look at what happened with Dark Sector. That game took half a lifetime to make and ended up in the junk pile. So with this long development cycle, pull a 'Gran Turismo' instead. Make the wait worthwhile.

I don't even know what the hell this game is supposed to be about, but the name alone is pretty boring. Alan Wake? Who the hell is that and why should I give a damn? How are they going to sell this once it's done (if that ever actually happens)?
I'll go ahead and predict it does as well as that Nazis invade NYC game from earlier this year (or last year or whenever it got pooped out). If it ever gets the chance to.

Have you been living under a rock or are you just as ignorant as you sound? How about doing some research before you spill your ill conceived 'opinion' on to your keyboard and waste valuable server space...
;-)

Oh crap, I don't know everything about a stupid vaporware game named Alan Wake, other than it's apparently in such a shit-mire that it's still not worth releasing after 3 years. What a nerd sin I have committed. Boo hoo for me.
Adman, you sir are a douche.
Sentox6 @ Aug 18th 2008 11:41PM
Adman is right. Even the simplest Wikipedia search would tell you what it's about.
Instead you fall over yourself in the eagerness to be as big of an asshat as you possibly can. There is only one douche here. Go check him out at your nearest mirror.
It's people like you that make ridiculous judgment calls on the basis of absolutely nothing that just make the world suck that much more.

Hey, pre-order it and sit and wait. And if and when it comes out, enjoy the epic fail. Wikipedia, damn...thanks for schooling me, Internet Einsteinz.
