With only eight days to wait for
Castle Crashers to storm the
Xbox Live Arcade (for
1200 Microsoft points), we're impatiently finding new ways to occupy our time until next Wednesday. We find that sketching
Castle Crashers knight doodles helps relieve some of the built up excitement as well as baking mini knight shaped cookies (don't ask.) But for those of you who don't mind "spoiling" your first fifteen minutes of
Castle Crashers fun, then make your way over to
Destructoid. They have 15 minutes of exclusive
Castle Crashers gaming footage (warning: you may want to mute) that should take the edge off your urges. We can wait, though. We'll just bake more knight shaped cookies in the meantime.

Looks good. Reminds me an old Saturn game. Guardian Heroes
SABCA @ Aug 20th 2008 1:25AM
Tom of the Behemoth list Guardian Heroes / Treasure's games in general as being his core inspiration (while Dan list River City Ransom), so I'm really hoping this game lives up to its greatness.

I'm still on the fence with this one! Could be fun, but also get a lil repetitive real fast! I just dont know!!! :(

on a side note***
is anyone else having problems with the new comment system remembering ur email address? I have the "remember me" boxed checked!
Alex @ Aug 19th 2008 5:45PM
I am. It won't remember my email either. I also don't like how the 'Returning' tab is not on the top.
Oh well.
Boff @ Aug 20th 2008 9:50AM
Aye it's a lot more fiddly to post a comment now.
joeybeast @ Aug 19th 2008 5:06PM
I've only seen a couple of screen shots.
And I am going to keep it that way until next Wednesday. I want to be surprised by CC just like Braid.
craig64 @ Aug 19th 2008 5:06PM
Oh yeah, I forgot this was next week! Good thing I have the points just waiting for this one!
DaMan09 @ Aug 19th 2008 5:20PM
He really should have upgraded his rabbit. Rabbits are very important these days.
dylan @ Aug 19th 2008 5:26PM
Seems to have been a victim of the Digg effect, the system is down.
ZenGaijin @ Aug 19th 2008 5:29PM
Man, I am so buying this game the second it hits LIVE.
Dirty @ Aug 19th 2008 5:34PM
hell yea, send over some of those Knight shaped cookies, they might get here in time for me to eat them and play the game at the same time,
I got points from the target deal just for this.
dylan @ Aug 19th 2008 5:49PM
I don't understand why the characters have to be so exciting, it makes me wish all games had the main character from the Atari 2600 game Adventure... now there was a character I could relate to.
johnny cass @ Aug 19th 2008 5:54PM
cant get my head round this looks like smash bros brawl grabbed by the goonies, all them games and i ask myself the same quiestion why do people want these.
Bob S @ Aug 19th 2008 6:25PM
I agree Johnny. I saw the video of it the other day because so many people have been talking about this, but I don't see what is supposed to be great about it?
I tried the demo of Braid before hearing any reviews about it and thought it was one of the worst games I have ever played. I didn't know it was going to be considered by people as one of the greatest games ever. I played through the demo anyways to see if I would like it, but it turned out to just be a waste of time.

Side-scrolling brawlers are very rare now-a-days, yet, back in the 90s, they where among the best games to play with friends, in the arcades.
4 players on an adventure, smashing through the enemy lines, making progress against progressively larger enemies, bigger challenges, learning boss tactics, and in turn, how to perfectly defend against them... the surprise and coolness of finding new items that noone has seen before, competing for score, as well as trying to be the most impressive out of your group... "Man, I've wasted 4 credits getting here, how'd you not die once?! Amazing!"
Have you never played a game of this genre before? If not, grab TMNT or Streets of Rage 2 off the Arcade, and find 3 other friends (TMNT) or just 1 more (SOR2), and see if you can imagine how much more Castle Crashers myriad of features would add to the already excellent experiences.
NvM @ Aug 21st 2008 7:56PM
Because people love laidback 4 player games because they are really fun thing to do with friends.
Jonah Falcon @ Aug 19th 2008 6:27PM
Yes, Don. Castle Crashers is all about flaming penises.
Just like Spore.
myabsolution @ Aug 19th 2008 11:15PM
wow...
I HAVE to have this game!!
I'm perfectly ok with 1200 MSP, as long as these games are of high caliber value.
Canadians such as myself do pay more for MSP, and I want every single point to go miles.
