This is a real travesty. It breaks my heart that Valve wants to provide us great free content an $M will not let them do it. Shame on you Xbox managment. I am starting to loose faith in your console. I have a new gaming rig that didn't cost me too much to build and has better graphics than the 360. Really wish I would have bought Orange box on PC instead of your system.

Who knows the real reasons. All we have now is speculation.
Also, that sandwich looks delicious!
MetalGearsOfSolidWar @ Aug 20th 2008 12:48PM
With all the other news, on the other fanboy sites. This really isn't amusing.
Sorry
Xav de Matos @ Aug 20th 2008 12:50PM
Sorry, should we be posting Sony updates?
ZenGaijin @ Aug 20th 2008 12:49PM
This is like rubbing salt in an old wound. Every time they announce new content for TF2 I get excited then I instantly remember that Valve hates console players and I get sad.
MetalGearsOfSolidWar @ Aug 20th 2008 12:51PM
Is MSoft at LZ?
Xav de Matos @ Aug 20th 2008 12:53PM
They didn't have a keynote but Xbox 360 games are there. I don't understand your complaint. Are you saying our posts are pointless because of new announcements happening in the Sony camp?
If something happens for Microsoft at the Games Convention we'll post it.
MetalGearsOfSolidWar @ Aug 20th 2008 12:58PM
I'm not saying they're pointless, i'm just saying that the Sony/Nintendo news is more amusing then whats going on at X3F right now.
But I can deal with it because I head about some MSoft convention in November.
I just found it strange the other fanboys sites kept getting news and it was slow over here. Hopefully MSoft just shows up out of nowhere and does something cool at LZ.

Biggest letdown of last year: TF2. Why? Because it had huge potential and a great style, but it's plagued by terrible 360 support and a super dodgy online experience. I really wanted to love the game, but it was impossible because it was so frustrating to even get on to play.
DBoyFlex @ Aug 20th 2008 1:02PM
I would likely play more (others as well) if they would release more content for us. I guess this is what we get for buying the 360 version.
Procris @ Aug 20th 2008 2:04PM
Well Value are PC guys first and foremost. I personally don't believe its MS forcing Value to charge for it, although the rumour that they are will always be present because MS are always "the evil guys". Theres tones of free content on marketplace right now, some of which could easily be charged for but it isn't. Not to mention i'm sure Microsoft wants quality games like TF2 to be just as good on 360.
Personally i think this is a case of dropped support. The 360 version probably didn't sell well enough for Value to care about continued support, while TF2 is probably still seeing steady sales on PC. You gota support your bread and butter, after all.
I hope they do release a big content update for the 360's Orange Box but you know what? I've given up hope for that at this point. All indications point to there never being one.
Matazah @ Aug 20th 2008 2:55PM
Damn how many times are you gonna mispell valve in one paragraph?
MDJ2010 @ Aug 20th 2008 6:26PM
Don't you mean Value? lol
Seriously though TF2 could and should have been so much more. Seemed like the perfect game for constant updates, but whenever I played it it was a blast!
Ross @ Aug 20th 2008 4:37PM
Oh man, if they won't give 360 owners the sandwich, at least give us the blueprint to build it so we can have it for lunch.
Daaaamn that looks tasty.

I bought the orange box at launch, which means it was the pc version, and I've been in love with this game ever since. Having played it on the 360 a few times I have to say that the experience is like playing a different game. Aside from the nuances of the d-pad control scheme my biggest problem with this game is its crippled online support (which is sad since it's an online game). Only 8 players per team is pretty weak. I can see valve putting more time into the pc version, as it lends itself to frequent updates and the community is very active in both generating content and providing feedback to valve (two aspects that are noticeably absent in this version). Hard to say whether its really a loss for 360 owners. For me the 360 version of TF2 is analogous to Rockband on the Wii. It's like TF2 "light". May as well pony up a little extra cash on a decent pc with a decent video card and enjoy the game in its purest form.
Phizzy @ Aug 24th 2008 1:15PM
Yeah, may as well, in addition to owning a 360, buy a £1000 gaming PC and play it on that.
