Duke Nukem 3D, now with saved films and rewind
With it's September release already but solidified, we just learned that Duke Nukem 3D for the Xbox Live Arcade will also be sporting some new film saving features.According to a Microsoft representative at X08, Duke 3D will include both gameplay rewind and saved film video features. The rewind option will allow players to "undo" mistakes (like dying) or go back to a point earlier in the game, whereas the saved film feature will (expectedly) allow players to record and share Duke 3D multiplayer videos with gamers. Two interesting game additions that we totally didn't see coming, but are welcomed none the less. Two features we'd also like another Duke game to incorporate, somehow.

I was wondering when someone would make a comment like this. I'm glad that it was someone who is OBVIOUSLY joking.

Actually, Blinx The Time Sweeper had rewind before Braid did. There were also a few other games with it as well. It's not an original concept.

The rewind feature sounds a bit dumb. It basically makes the game impossible to lose.

These features sound neat but I do question the rewinding one as most of the time in Duke it was a surprise element that ended in your death. I don't think I like it at all. Unless, how about an achievement for not using it through the game then we are talking.
Other than that the news of these new features makes me wonder what kind of price they are going to stick on this game? Granted I will pay whatever to have the Duke but this kind of effort tells me that this will for sure not be an 800 point thing.
Duke will without a doubt be the king of fps games in the arcade for a long time being out done only by the eventual release of Quake 3 arena arcade. Even after that though, Quake may have it beat in the multiplayer area but Duke will still have the fps award for story mode in spades.
It's an exciting time for gaming and to own a 360. Sit back and soak it in players.

After Castle Crashers I'll have ten dollars left, I can't decide between this and War World (come on... who doesn't love giant robots?).

Cue the videos of throwing money at pole dancers and shooting pigs while they're sitting on the toilet.
Hail to the king baby!!
