Is this some sort of joke?
D dogg @ Aug 26th 2008 6:17PM
SERIOUSLY... does it look like some sort of joke or are you just displaying your displeasure at the fact that people who don't know you personally on the internet could give a rats ass that you don't like Too Human?
Just curious.
* In prepubescent Halo 3 speak *
CRY MORE n00b!
Nobody gives a shit YOU don't like Too Human.
joeybeast @ Aug 26th 2008 4:52PM
Is this Dyack in disguise?
Muffin_man @ Aug 26th 2008 6:38PM
Who said I dislike Too Human? I just find the coverage of Too Human a bit too much. Halo 3 I could understand (It's in the top ten most played games) and I thought that was a bit much.
I think you are the one who is a -quote- n00b -unquote- because you are a Too Human fanboy.
Personally I don't even like Halo, I could complain that X3F isn't doing enough coverage on a vastly superior game Far Cry 2) since there are loads of new videos and articles to read. Instead they decide to make "news" posts about other "news" posts on the same page.
Some people really shouldn't be allowed to use a computer (in case you are a little slow I'm talking about you D dog).
On a final note; don't use the word 'noob' only 12 year olds and the Sweedish use that word and it makes you sound like a dimwit.
BananaBoat @ Aug 29th 2008 12:04AM
I think he's got a point. Too Human is nowhere near a big enough release to have it's own page. I mean, it's interesting in that retrospective "Where did things go wrong?!" sense, but a whole page with news about a game that only a handful of die hards are playing?
Even if I loved the game (I don't. I really, really don't) I'd still think it was a bit bizarre.
bigmac375 @ Aug 26th 2008 4:14PM
sweet idea!
you think you guys can do this for all major releases?
Momer @ Aug 27th 2008 6:48AM
I think they also had one for Ninja Gaiden 2, but not any other games so far.
DiddlyKong @ Aug 26th 2008 4:18PM
I hope you guys actually play Too Human. Especially Xav, I wonder what his thoughts on the game are after having a tour of Willy Wonka's Chocolate Factory (Silicon Knights Studios). Maybe you could talk about it on the fancast.
Richard Mitchell @ Aug 26th 2008 5:15PM
Both Xav and I are playing it. I'm really liking it so far, but I am a dungeon crawling fiend. If you like getting lots of loot and constantly upgrading your character, it's a lot of fun.
Boff @ Aug 27th 2008 5:05AM
Who DOESN'T like looting and levelling up???
Roll on Friday the 29th!

This should have been available 10+ years ago.

+1 sir, +1.
Neuromancer @ Aug 26th 2008 8:17PM
At least someone appreciates my sense of humor. I guess there are more Denis Dyack fanboys on this site than I thought! ;)
sedington86 @ Aug 26th 2008 4:22PM
After all the trash talking on Too Human, and getting to play it for a couple days... yes there is some stuff wrong with it, who cares, it is fun as hell to play.
emirabal @ Aug 26th 2008 4:26PM
In regards to all the other comments, just relax, in regards to this post and commenst related to this post (some are just off topic), this is a great idea, especially for all the new releases coming up, it will make a lot of sense, maybe ehen it gets big enough make a section on the side detailing all the games in that manner. Just a thought.
typeusername @ Aug 26th 2008 4:27PM
I hope to get this game soon. I liked the demo and I'm really excited to try the co-op feature. I watched the review on Gamespot and they kinda tore it up. Thought it was odd. I'm still going to get it. Thanks for the info.
Dead Insomnia @ Aug 26th 2008 4:35PM
This is a GOOD game. Not the best but I bought it after trying the Demo and its a nice change and I haven't had any regrets. Interesting to play and fun to watch. I personally think that this is for more serious gamers who take time in the games that they play and are not trying to rush through things...... that's MHO...... For whats its worth. My friend came over to check it out and he is a hard core gamer, I let him stay up and play it after I went to bed at 10:00pm, I woke up at 4:00 am and he was still playing it! and said it was freaking awsome!

Not sure why my last post was deleted, maybe it was because I didnt praise the dedicated "Too human" website?? umm glad you did it?! That was my first post btw.
Macroy @ Aug 26th 2008 5:58PM
Since it was your first post, you probably weren't aware that the comment system is handled by finicky Comment Gnomes that screw up a lot.

i really hope this a joke, too human is the biggest disappointment since assassins creed

ya know, now that i think about it maybe ive been a lil hard on too human.. i really enjoyed assassins creed despite the flaws and ridiculously repetitive gameplay, trash bin storyline and the totally not-so-grand finale.. maybe too human has similar hooks in other ppl and i just cant appreciate the upside..
on the other hand, Dyack has been parading around for months preaching the too human way and its just not a top tier, triple A title at all.. if too human makes it to a sequel i wouldnt be surprised, but i dont expect to see the trilogy finished during this console cycle..
thisguyrighthere @ Aug 26th 2008 6:38PM
I couldn't hate this game more. I hate all pointless "dungeon crawlers" from Gauntlet to Diablo to Too Human. Wow, I get to horde virtual junk, neat! The fact that you can't ever fail means that all the item collecting and "upgrading" mean even less. From start to finish you never have to equip anything. You could finish it buck naked swinging a stick.
I especially hate myself for not doing enough research and being under the impression this game was something it isn't and going out and buying the thing.
I'll never get that time or money back and it's all my own stupid dumbass fault.
I based my decision on early trailers and combat descriptions. If I ever saw the words "dungeon crawler" I never would have thrown my money away.
God bless those of you who like the game but it's destined to be a painful and embarrassing memory for me.
AoE @ Aug 26th 2008 6:49PM
extra embarrassing since there was a demo you could have tried before purchasing?
Zoot Suit Jedi @ Aug 26th 2008 10:56PM
I'll take it off your hands on the cheap.
thisguyrighthere @ Aug 27th 2008 10:01AM
You know, I played the demo and thought the demo was great. After playing it was when I preordered. I figured the demo was just this small part of the game and that it took place after all the story and action that was seemingly represented in the trailer where the main character was in a bar in a town and the bar was attacked by that thing.
Then I take it home and find out there is no bar, there is no town, there is no world or adventure of any kind. Just a hub where some uppity guy sends me out to hack-n-slash pointlessly for a couple of painfully boring hours then I go back to the hub.
I didn't die in the demo so I didn't know that death was impossible. I expected a whole world of travel and variety from the trailer I saw. I expected the item collection would actually have a purpose.
The only thing that actually is the way I expected it to be is the combat.
Maybe if death was an option and acquiring certain things was necessary to pass certain obstacles I could tolerate mindlessly swirling the analog stick for hours.

Why? Nobody cares.
Sinister Rouge @ Aug 26th 2008 7:29PM
Would anyone else rather play split-screen co-op in Phantasy Star Online Ep2 again? WHO'S WITH ME???
ZEBRA NINER @ Aug 26th 2008 7:50PM
W00t! This is fantastic on two levels!
1. I really like Too Human, and all these little extras are cool.
2. The SK/DD haters are probably pooping their internet-pants with rage.
:) Oh, and if you guys do this for other games, that would be sweet too.
Anticrawl @ Aug 26th 2008 8:20PM
I've just about burnt myself out on Too Human haha, having to pace myself. One hell of an awesome game, will have all the achievements in no time.
Maclintok @ Aug 26th 2008 9:36PM
Well done re: the dedicated page. This game deserves it. It is extremely fun and addictive, warts and all.
Xav de Matos @ Aug 26th 2008 9:41PM
I understand that many people are split on Too Human and this content so I thought I'd jump in for a few words.
A comment or two has been floating around that this site must have taken bags of money from Silicon Knights to "promote" the game. In fact, after months of planning, we visited the studio to talk to one of the industries most known representatives. Liked or not.
We wanted to meet with Denis and discuss the history of his company (who has also been known for classic titles), give him our impressions of Too Human and discuss the things we like (combat and art style) and the things we didn't (the Valkyrie animation).
I think when people look at the entire "Week's Worth of Content" as a whole they will be happy -- whether you're a fan of Too Human or not.
Remember, we also have other interviews too and did the same page layout for Ninja Gaiden II. We're trying to broaden our content rather than be a news dump.
We're trying to do new and exciting things, so please let us know what you truly think about it.
If you preferred we only wrote the same news day in and day out let us know -- but we're trying to bring you something you can't find anywhere else.
I urge you to ignore the content if you get heated over it, that's the great thing about our site. We're not draped in ads for games like those other guys. Don't like something let us know about it and scroll up/down past it.
If we have the opportunity and means to go to Bungie, EA, Activision or anywhere else we will. But, as it stands for Silicon Knights and Too Human let us know what you think about the content itself by shooting us an email.
EMaster @ Aug 26th 2008 10:09PM
Soooo how much did Silicon Knights Pay you guys?
Vazquez @ Aug 26th 2008 10:54PM
Lol. Too Human.
Dead Insomnia @ Aug 27th 2008 8:39AM
You cant just go through this game with basic weapons, naked and such as a previous poster stated! You HAVE to upgrade weapons, armor and such to advance. I had some one sit with me who was familiar with RPG's and explain to me how ruins, armor, weapons and such are upgraded and how to read the skills tree.. (too lazy to read the Manuel... I am a guy what can I say) he opened up an entirely new game to me! This game deserves MORE good attention than what it is getting. I cant wait to go back and re-play this game with another character so I wont make the same mistakes twice and to see how I can further and quicker advance my character, then bring him online. I think this game will become one of those cult favorites type of games that only seasoned gamers will appreciate. I know I posted twice about this game, but after reading the X3F dedicated page to this game it made me want to really learn this game, and I am glad that I did. Thank you again. ;-)
thisguyrighthere @ Aug 27th 2008 10:12AM
No, you don't have to. I'm at the third area now and not once have I equipped anything. I'm pretty sure my armor is all broken. And guess what? I still can't lose!
All of those things, runes, weapons, armor, skills, are completely meaningless without some sort of consequence to give them value.
Raziel @ Sep 9th 2008 10:24AM
I love how Denis says that he can't wait to get back home and equip his defender in epic armor. Denis, are you aware that it takes 100+ hours of gameplay just on one character to collect all 5 pieces? Some people end up at 120 hours of gameplay. Its exciting yeah. For first 50 levels. Then grinding routine starts, and all excitement goes down to toilet until you finally get all those blasted parts.
