With all the
Duke Nukem 3D news trickling in over the past few weeks, we know a lot about the game including some of the
new additions,
release date and even the game's
achievements, but we really haven't seen the game in action or how the new rewind / video share features will work ... until now.
Shacknews posted a quick and dirty
Duke Nukem 3D hands-on writeup including
video footage of the game menus, game footage and the two new features. All we can say is that those who suffered from
Marathon motion sickness will probably become woozy after playing
Duke on the XBLA. Yum, yum!

I still can't wait. I'd risk the sickness
DiddlyKong @ Aug 26th 2008 1:09PM
This looks great. Will buy for 800 points.
NeoJedi Knight @ Aug 26th 2008 1:20PM
I had no problem playing Marathon, so I am going to buy this on day one.
Oh, and is it coming out for 800 points? I would be willing to pay as much for this as Braid and Castle Crashers, but less would be sweet.

I don't see how marathon gave motion sickness, you couldn't look up/down. I will be a true testement to this game giving motion sickness. I used to play this game for hours for friends, but everytime I would feel horribly sick afterwards, I never knew why. Well, I just played it for the xbox 1 a few days ago and I figured out why. The fake-3d effect makes things look distorted so it makes you feel sick. It doesn't hurt the game at all, since it's such a freaking amazing game!

How bout local coop up to 4?
007craft @ Aug 26th 2008 10:13PM
sorry to burst your bubble, but this game has NO splictscreen (local) co-op or vs modes of any kind. It does allow such modes online however.
I played it at x08 in case your wondering, so I saw it first hand.

I recall Duke Nukem 3d being one of the first games to support high resolutions. Too bad they couldn't make it happen for modern TVs. Getting tired of playing these rehash games with giant borders around them. Lame.
Neuromancer @ Aug 26th 2008 1:49PM
I loved this game but it doesn't look like it's aged well at all. =(
exkonz @ Aug 26th 2008 2:36PM
A chance to get back into Duke's shoes?
Hell Yes.
8-player co-op?!? @#$@ YES.
SugarDaddy @ Aug 26th 2008 1:56PM
F this game up the A with a big rubber D. F 3D Realms. I will definitely not pay 1 cent for this crap.
bigjrussell @ Aug 26th 2008 2:16PM
Looks ok, still gonna have to play the trial first. Loved me some Duke back in the day, now we've grown apart....so sad.
Ninegauger @ Aug 26th 2008 3:05PM
Doom was a lot of fun... I'm looking forward to this... though I did play the N64 version of Duke Nukem so I may not get as much out of this one (I'd never played Doom before).
DukeFett @ Aug 26th 2008 5:30PM
I was completely looking forward to this but after looking at these videos, it just doesn't seem like it's worth it. I can't see myself replaying the entire game after all these years. No updated graphics, no widescreen (is it really that hard to just make the field of view wider or something?)
Meh.
pixelsofdeath @ Aug 26th 2008 7:00PM
borders = fail
Evil Bastard @ Aug 26th 2008 9:42PM
I wonder if you can still tip the dancers, and is the OJ Simpson Bronco chase still on the TVs?

Sorry can you repeat that? I didn't quite catch it the first 3 times ;o)
Boff @ Aug 27th 2008 7:12AM
Just watched the video, it brought back some fond memories and put a big smile on my face!
Even CliffyB would have to admit, there's nothing more badass than the Duke.
:o)

You "Motion Sickness" guys have got to toughen up or something. We played these ray traced games on PC's for years and no one got "Motion Sickness."
