I've only gotten into about 3 games. The rest of the time it boots me back to the main screen or occasionally freezes.
What I have been able to play has been a blast though!
Mazrael @ Aug 27th 2008 2:43PM
Play online? no thanks.. I always get the squeely kids.. I like my ears thanks.. though currently I think I'm at the duff bit in Castle Crashers.. (ala Gears of Wars vehicle section) the Lava World Boss.. won't say more (because they're always the same kind of enviroments in these games, so I'm spoiling nothing..).. well I can't hit the thing.. :/
Dirty @ Aug 27th 2008 2:59PM
is it so much to ask for and 18 and up area for xbox live?
keith @ Aug 27th 2008 4:17PM
they should have an 18 and up area of xbox live
FR3SH JIV3 @ Aug 28th 2008 4:36PM
BEEFY! That's all I am going to say :P
Aero @ Aug 27th 2008 2:45PM
As of yet I haven't managed to play a game with a friend that either didn't start or quit to the title screen at the end of the level, however I thought it was an issue with my friend's connection as I did play a problem-free game with a random person who joined a game with me and my friend before my friend got disconnected.
HaVoC @ Aug 27th 2008 5:43PM
If they did have an 18 and up section of LIVE, the kis would find a way to get into that too.
joeybeast @ Aug 27th 2008 2:53PM
I have a "I'm stuck at work and can't play" issue.
ZEBRA NINER @ Aug 27th 2008 3:01PM
Yeah, where is that option? :)
Patton @ Aug 27th 2008 3:30PM
Yeah. These last 1.5 hours are killing me.
nomadic0ne @ Aug 27th 2008 3:42PM
Ditto!
I had to choose the "Feel Important" option...
While I DO like to feel important (heh! Yay me!), I feel like I was unable to truly contribute to this noble endeavor.
I will strive to play this evening and promise that I WILL vote again!
I will vote with PASSION and TRUTH and FREEDOM for ALL!
*wild applause!!*
Thank you. Thank you! No...thank YOU!
Tess @ Aug 27th 2008 3:44PM
Yeah, that! But soon, soooon I will get my turn!
vidGuy @ Aug 27th 2008 2:53PM
I just moved to a new dorm building and I've been having connection issues all week. I can get online, check my friends, and download movies or games, but when I try to join an online match (Halo 3, COD4, CC, whatever) I get booted from LIVE.
Any idea what may be causing this? I thought it might be a download speed issue, but I'm getting around 128k download speeds and have a shared T1 connection...
Octantis @ Aug 27th 2008 3:28PM
I know live uses a multitude of different ports. Perhaps all but one is open at the university and when you try online gaming it tries that bum port and kicks you out.
I would suggest running a connectivity test from the system blade. If that comes back as strict instead of open then I know you have a problem either with your router or with the firewall at the university.
My suggestion is to talk to a lab tech in the computer science building. I'm sure one of them has an xbox and has gotten over your problem.
Minecart @ Aug 27th 2008 3:28PM
i can get into an occasional game, but it takes 10 tries to do so, and it invariably ends after 20 seconds. bummer. i'm going to try tonight after work when hopefully the server load is down. gamertag is Minecart if anyone wants to try to get a game going. it seems to work better if you invite friends, oddly.
Mr.U2 @ Aug 27th 2008 3:00PM
Lol @ the overwhelming number of "I just vote so I can feel important". Ha, that's great.
DBoyFlex @ Aug 27th 2008 3:05PM
We need more polls. It is cool to see various opinions about xbox stuff.
Alex @ Aug 27th 2008 3:08PM
The game is great but I can't get into any games! I even tried creating my own games but no one joins!
Gemini Ace @ Aug 27th 2008 3:12PM
2 years of dev time and they can't even release a working game? Sounds like it's worth the points to me!
vidGuy @ Aug 27th 2008 3:15PM
Could it be possible that the issues stem from the overwhelming demand for the game? I can think of more than a few high profile games that were well worth $60 and still had online issues upon release.
lazyear @ Aug 27th 2008 3:15PM
I think it's a server overload issue. On a few reviews I read, they said that the online worked great.
Andrew @ Aug 27th 2008 4:09PM
Don't mind Gemini Ace, it looks like he's turned into a troll. Every one of his comments has been negative for a while now...
NvM @ Aug 27th 2008 7:32PM
yeah but that's what reviewers said about SSBB, and the online is still buggy crap as it was on release.
Patton @ Aug 27th 2008 3:32PM
It's all about the local play, fellas. Can't wait to dig into a 12-pack get some of that going with my friends.
bigjrussell @ Aug 27th 2008 3:52PM
Yeah, put me in the "working for the man" category. 4 just can't come fast enough.
Ample Salty @ Aug 27th 2008 4:00PM
It's been a little iffy for me. Sometimes it will work for a little while but most of the time it drops and leads to me losing level ups and items. It'll say I have NAT compatability issues which is nonsense. The people I was playing with I have played with for a year or two without too many issues.
Mr. Nosuch @ Aug 27th 2008 4:04PM
The number of people voting for "I just want to vote so I can feel important." is probably due to the retards at this web site not making a way to just VIEW THE RESULTS.
Because, y'know, some of us thinking about buying the game kind of care if the xbox live part is screwed up, as is often the case with co-op Arcade games it seems.
Conor @ Aug 27th 2008 5:56PM
I hate it when games don't work online!
ice~ @ Aug 27th 2008 6:11PM
Co op kinda works, but forget about arena....oh boy it's bad trying to get in a match, btw over 20k people got this game on the first day!!!!! Look at the leaderboards, took braid a week to get 28k, I'm happy for the behemoth :)
burgerbat @ Aug 27th 2008 8:18PM
I can't connect at all. It always returns with "This game session is no longer available."
It would really suck to be one of the lucky people who won a chance to play with the creators, you sons of bitches.
But really, why is it they never anticipate server loads for hyped-up games? Especially a game like CC, where you want to jump in with some other players from the start? Halo, Crackdown, Gears all had server downtime when they launched. All were hyped beyond fucking oblivion, so they should have known their servers were going to get some heavy traffic way in advance. Yet they fuck it up, everytime. Do they take brand new servers out of the box for every game and then properly configure them as the network melts down, or what? CC is awesome, but fuck this, don't tease me for two years for a bunch of fucking "no longer available" bullshit. And fuck X3F for not giving me that green CC figure.
Ross @ Aug 27th 2008 8:22PM
I was playing multiple games without any issues at all. If you can't find a game, try creating your own one. People will just generally fall out of the sky and join you, trust me.
Although when I try to connect directly with some people, our connections don't cooperate. I believe this is due to NAT settings or something, but I'm no whiz.
Other then that, the game works like a dream.
dylan @ Aug 28th 2008 12:51AM
I keep getting the comment "Game is no longer available" what game? Castle Crashers? How is a game released today no longer available?
Darren @ Aug 28th 2008 12:54AM
My game doesn't save at all. If i exit the game or reboot xbox, I start from scratch. They need to patch this asap.
jason @ Aug 28th 2008 9:10AM
i could connect and play with my friends, but after 10-15 minutes we'd get laggy and then disconnect. after a few times of this happening, the error message changed from "you've been disconnected" to "you may have NAT issues". not sure if that's actually the case, but hopefully things will be ironed out.
GallowGlass @ Aug 28th 2008 10:56AM
Same here. The really frustrating thing is that it would only happen on loads between levels. The game is awesome but that kind of thing pisses me off.
Slinging5lasher @ Aug 28th 2008 7:52PM
Hey guys, i've been having the same problem similar to you guys in regards to the multiplayer. if you guys want, please add my gamertag and we all can try to invite each other into the game lobby. My gamer tag is Slinging5lasher (the 5lasher is number 5 not letter S)
Cheers!
grtgonzo @ Aug 29th 2008 11:59AM
I was playing with my 5 year old, who is surprisingly good at this game, when she asked to play with those "people who talk". Alas, we had no luck at all. The game is great, but the online set up and especially the connectivity issues are disappointing.
Andrew @ Aug 29th 2008 11:26AM
Their website is down, too. I think The Behemoth didn't expect to be hit this hard by the demand for the game.
John @ Sep 1st 2008 3:57PM
Having laggy issues too and connectivity problems.
Offline is great but online is a nightmare "game no longer available"(creating, quick match) then playing nice about 10min and all of the sudden laggy and kick us from the game.
I guess a patch is needed NAO
Tume @ Sep 1st 2008 12:41PM
I bought live-time just to play this online... And its not working at all...........................................*boom* head explodes
Ramzy @ Sep 1st 2008 10:02AM
Online capability is absolutely fucked no matter what i do. I've forwarded all my ports and the XBL connectivity test passes will full marks, even NAT settings are fine.
Whether i choose quick or custom match, both fail... Fuck, even creating my own match fails. As soon as i attempt to start it, i hear the map music for a second, then i drop with "Game is no longer available". HOW THE FUCK CAN MY **OWN** SERVER BE UNAVAILABLE?
dustin @ Sep 11th 2008 7:36PM
i could not play a single game onlin i think because i bought the game in my family room and migrated my account to my bedroom. I purchased the game again in my bedroom and now i can play online almost without a problem.
