'Several hours' of Duke Nukem Forever currently playable
During an interview with 3D Realms' George Broussard about the XBLA port of Duke Nukem 3D, Team Xbox took it upon itself to ask what's going on with Duke Nukem Forever. In response, Broussard stated that the project is "going really well" and that "There are several hours of fairly polished game to play." Broussard added further that the game is undergoing testing and that "things are coming together," saying, "It's fun, it's in focus, we know what bits are fun and which are not, and it's just a matter of time now." Broussard concluded by saying he's "probably never been as happy or excited" about Duke Nukem Forever as he is right now. We'd like to share the sentiment, but at this point we are all but numb to Duke Nukem Forever. Here's hoping we change our tune when the game releases, which may not be too far away if Broussard's comments are anything to go by.

"It's fun, it's in focus, we know what bits are fun and which are not, and it's just a matter of time now."
Ok, why he pointed out that it's just a matter of time now is beyond me. The main focus of Duke Nukem at this point has always been about time (how long it's taking).
In future interviews (and marketing from this point forward), how about they make it a point to try and remove the stigma of time and actually start focusing on just the game itself.
I am very curious to see how the game is shaping up though. Honestly, give me a Duke Nukem with today's physics and graphics along with the typical Duke humor and I'll be happy... no, seriously.

You know, at this point, I'm not sure I *want* it to come out. What else are we going to joke about? When we want to say something's never going to be released, we won't be able to say "after Duke Nukem Forever" anymore!
Next you'll be telling me that the Phantom console is going to be released by next Christmas. :/

Duke Nukem=Ultimate Badass

Wow, a few hours eh? Well, that should be enough for about 1/4 of a demo I suppose. Judging by the development time, this game is gonna be AT LEAST 100 HOURS, and spam 5 DVDs or so.
And also@CyberKnight, very true brother, IF it ever comes out...then we lose a great joke! Hell, I would lose part of my will to live!

oblivion takes forever and it didnt take 10 or so years to develop
Ed @ Aug 27th 2008 7:17PM
I gonna go ahead and call bs.

I don't think his comment implies the game is that long, but rather that's how much of it is mostly playable at this point.
"Several" hours is how long Gears of War and Halo 3 are to begin with.
Seanross @ Aug 27th 2008 8:48PM
I bet they have several Duke Nukems completed and are just playing around the office and BS'ing around having with it already. I mean whats the last thing to come out of that studio?
Apeezee @ Aug 27th 2008 9:05PM
Pics or it didn't happen.
Marrvia @ Aug 27th 2008 11:28PM
Several hours? What, that's about 7 or 8 hours or so? And the game will probably end up being 15 hours. So after 13 years of development, the game is about halfway done. I guess we will see the game in 2021. Can't wait.

13 years? Duke Nukem 3D wasn't even out 13 years ago. It's 11 years. So, 2019.
Sentox6 @ Aug 28th 2008 5:14AM
The definition of several is more than two or three, but not many; I'd say 7-8 is pushing it a bit.
Teabag @ Aug 28th 2008 4:08AM
Duke Nukem is Too Human.
Boff @ Aug 28th 2008 5:02AM
I'd happily watch a vid of a few minutes of these several hours of fairly polished game they have.
RabbitC @ Aug 28th 2008 5:12AM
7 hours playable! WHOA!!! Sounds like it's about time to changeover the entire game engine again ;) Wouldn't want to threaten 'completion' at a time like this!
Maverick Saturn @ Aug 28th 2008 7:40AM
Bruce Willis is back!

Wow I looked and felt young when words first hit about this game and now I look and feel old, how the years pass. At this rate I'll be dead before it comes out but at least my kids will be able to play it or maybe their kids may be more realistic. :D
MDJ2010 @ Aug 28th 2008 9:42AM
Sadly, I know how you feel.

TomCo @ Aug 28th 2008 4:36PM
For the linguistically challanged among you; several does not mean seven.
MaxShrek @ Aug 28th 2008 8:11PM
