A bit earlier today (and as
promised) Bungie unleashed
Halo 3 multiplayer map Assembly upon PAX attendees, letting anyone partake in the Assembly funnery. And for those who aren't lucky enough to get hands on time with the new map, Bungie released a few
screenshots depicting a bunch of Spartan on Spartan violence in a purplish colored Covenant world. We'll be getting some Assembly PAX hands on time a bit later and be posting a complete writeup about our experience. Until then, enjoy the Assembly picture goodies.

Thank you for opening my eyes "halo 3 sucks." Before your comment I used to enjoy playing Halo 3 with friends but you have shown me my ignorance.
Xaeinovis @ Aug 29th 2008 9:44PM
Well, I'm certainly sorry for you sucking at the game, but take your idiotic comments elsewhere. =)

Awesome Pictures. I can't wait to log some hours on this map when it is officially released. Thanks X3F!

So perfectly covenantly purple. Too bad my xbox has RROD (moment of silence for the fallen please)
Gun Barrier (Gamer Tag) @ Aug 29th 2008 11:45PM
cool
Benjamin Three @ Aug 30th 2008 2:56AM
Dammit, another waste of Halo map space. Seriously, this map could have been something cool. Instead, it's another mid-sized, purple map i've played a thousand times in Halo 2.
For a developer who proud themselves in 'looking after' their community, you would've thought they'd be aware that the large majority prefer maps based on the human world like ghost town, high ground and headlong.
(sorry, guess i'm just still annoyed that halo 3 promised to be a last fight for earth, when actually, hardly any of it does take place on earth)
ryan @ Aug 30th 2008 9:47AM
heh, those were my thoughts when they promised Halo 2 would be more Earth concentrated. and then they f'ed up that Halo 3 "invasion" as well.
i can't wait for that rumored ODST game, it's sure to be more Earth oriented. i hope.
Boomer @ Aug 30th 2008 3:03AM
so how much $$ are we expected to cough up for this map?
Brian @ Aug 30th 2008 6:03AM
No one knows.
Brian @ Aug 30th 2008 6:02AM
The map looks fantastic
dicknjane @ Aug 30th 2008 8:25AM
wow, it looks amazing! its just the kind of map we need. medium sized, close quarters, and covenant styled! thank you Bungie for another great map!!
Benjamin Three @ Aug 30th 2008 9:23AM
^^^ I'm gonna assume this was sarcastic, for obvious reasons.
Mike @ Aug 30th 2008 9:11PM
I personally, like the covenant style and forerunner style maps much more than the human ones, if you want human maps play any other FPS game out there.
The futuristic, and unique style the covenant and forerunner maps have is always fun. Midship and lockout were the best two halo maps out there.
Ghost town sucks, its worse than even epitaph.
Some of the human style maps are good in halo, but the covenant ones are much better, this one looks to be promising too.
ferretron @ Sep 18th 2008 12:09PM
oh fantastic. (i think everyone else will agree) i just want another map a bit like sandtrap. there arent that many big maps and even when avalanche came out that was flawed with the passage through the middle making capture the flag games too quick and the camper that bit more annoying. i really hope they can actually start to think about maps rather than remaking old ones and hoping that the gamers will be happy because i know im not. an earth orientated one would be great. a city one or an open one for snipers and vehicles.

This looks good .
