Official list of Gears of War 2 achievements

We were teased with a leaked list of Gears of War 2 achievements the other day, but were quick to learn that said leaked list wasn't complete or 100% accurate. Now, thanks to IGN, we've been graced with the official list of all 45 achievements as well a listing of all the three linked achievements.

You can browse the complete listing of GoW2 achievement deliciousness after the jump and, in all honesty, they're nearly identical to the leaked list except for a few name changes and additions. The best part about the achievements? The names! Seriously (pun intended), with names like "Party Like It's 1999", "Variety Is the Spice of Death", "Friends with Benefits", "Better Wrapped in Beacon" and our personal favorite "Beat the Meatflag" you can't go wrong. Make the jump, get achievement learned, get linked achievement learned and map out your 1000 Gears Gamerscore quest.

A lot of album references for the chapter rewards. Like, Freebaird, Does This Look Infected To You?, Tanks for the Memories.

i really like the way these achievements are done, especially that the weapons ones work across all modes and not just ranked multiplayer. the bigger ones like playing 1999 games and getting 100,000 kills are great too, give some cheevos to looks forward after playing the game for awhile. well done sirs!

I have to say i agree with what you said, these seem a lot more feasible and no boosting required, god knows i have played over 1999 rounds but i cant get 100 boom shot kills for whatever reason.

The musical reference all rock for sho, dats wassup

These achievements, are awesome.
They're achievable! It'll take some work, but I'm positive I can get 1000 in GOW2. Yay!
No "Achievement farming" rooms! No weapon hogging for Sniper or Boom progress!

I guess no 4-player co-op (Dom or Marcus)...
Not that i have a huge problem with it, but it would have been nice. Also i like that it Dom and Marcus now, cause it got frustrating to switch to profile 2 when playing "couch" co-op.

All of these are quite fun.I like Photojournalist since it remainds me of Dead Rising probably the achievement makes reference to Frank West.

It is another business tactic. By doing this, it will make a lot of ppl that haven;t bought the first gears of war to actually purchase one right before the second one comes out. It is sheer genius actually....

i think im gonna avoid gettin achievements in gears 2.. obviously thats not possible but im more interested in having fun this time around than grinding for another seriously achievement..

i cant wait to jam my gun and see what new stuff carmine has to say.. my favorite combo is still jam+stop+grab ammo =

jam+stomp*+grab ammo... still wish i could edit my posts here, should probably just read it before im done..

just read the ign article and took a peek at gow.com and it looks like i wont be able to avoid many achievements..

loving how they tackled the return of Carmine tho.. plus it looks like ill have 2 Carmines to choose from.. i hope baby brother is up to the job, he's got some big shoes to fill..
