so i guess RB2 is using the same save folder or will it create a new one when i first put it in
HazyCloud @ Sep 4th 2008 5:19PM
It will probably use it's own. That doesn't mean the game can't read what's in the RB 1 folder.
CB @ Sep 4th 2008 5:18PM
wtf 60 messages?!
Richard Mitchell @ Sep 4th 2008 5:32PM
I'm bad about checking messages...
jeff @ Sep 4th 2008 5:21PM
Wait so what part of this involves a password?
http://www.joystiq.com/2008/08/21/a-tiny-bit-more-info-about-tranferring-rock-band-songs-to-the-se/
HazyCloud @ Sep 4th 2008 5:40PM
Apparently none of it. My guess is there will be a code in RB2 to get the 20 free DLC tracks at launch.
wa27 @ Sep 4th 2008 5:25PM
Wow, was the sped up part intentionally adjusted so that the drummer animation synced with yakety sax? If so, awesome.
Richard Mitchell @ Sep 4th 2008 5:32PM
Nope. That is what they call a "happy accident."
:)
dicknjane @ Sep 4th 2008 5:27PM
i cant fucking wait for RB 2. this is sooooo much better than GH 4.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Sep 4th 2008 5:49PM
Fanboys suck.
dicknjane @ Sep 4th 2008 5:54PM
oh lighten up kid. i was just sayin that cuz u can use all ur RB1 songs. dont have a pissy fit.
PhoenixAvatar @ Sep 4th 2008 10:47PM
You're still being a fanboy though.
DeadPlasmaCell @ Sep 4th 2008 8:11PM
I don't see anyone having a pissy fit. Just stating the obvious :P
DudeRed @ Sep 5th 2008 9:40AM
I find it funny how people just twist the meanings of words over time...Just because he prefers one game to the other doesn't make him a fanboy. Get over your self...
Its kinda like the word noob...it first was someone who didn't know the rules of the game, now it means you just suck...*sigh*
joeybeast @ Sep 4th 2008 5:28PM
Hey, I use the same theme.
JaggedToaster @ Sep 4th 2008 5:35PM
Same here.
One question though, why is is that I never have any ads on my 360? I've yet to see one...
Dragod @ Sep 4th 2008 5:50PM
Your age is under 18. As long as your age in your profile is under 18, you won't get ads, but you also can't download M-rated demos/game videos and there is no way to have a parent allow it.
It is *very* annoying. Even though M is rated as "Age 17 or older", you must be 18 to download the demos.
/rant
JaggedToaster @ Sep 4th 2008 8:10PM
Oh yes, I know. I'm glad I can download M-rated arcade games though. The demos get on my nerves, since I technically am old enough to play the games. Argh.
deejaymoogz @ Sep 4th 2008 5:40PM
All I have to say, props to Benny Hill.
Seanross @ Sep 4th 2008 7:41PM
Is that where that song was from when he was transferring the songs?
deejaymoogz @ Sep 4th 2008 8:31PM
Yes it is. Nothing better than a chase scene with that music.
Dragod @ Sep 4th 2008 5:47PM
So, if I were to buy Rock Band 2, rent the original Rock Band game, then pay the $5, I would be able to play all of those songs in Rock Band 2? There's no check to make sure you still own the original Rock Band? Are the songs profile locked? Can you export the songs multiple times with one license?
Dragod @ Sep 4th 2008 5:53PM
Also, why do I no longer receive emails when I get a reply?
steve @ Sep 20th 2008 1:36AM
i need to know the answer to this question also, b/c im ready to borrow my friends rock band
Andrew @ Sep 4th 2008 5:53PM
"too see" I can learnz grammrz.
dicknjane @ Sep 4th 2008 5:55PM
horray! i jus transferred my songs! and the process was seamless.
+++volume+++ @ Sep 4th 2008 6:14PM
Yay for free Castle Crashers theme.
StLouisRibs7734 @ Sep 4th 2008 6:19PM
Damn, that drummer must be tired.
myabsolution @ Sep 4th 2008 6:23PM
so glad that theme was free. im rocking it right now :P
andylee92 @ Sep 4th 2008 6:30PM
the really question is, why would you want to play these again when we have been playing them for the last year? If you do this just sell ur rock band game since u have everything on it.
Andy @ Sep 4th 2008 6:36PM
So, in theory, could i borrow my mates copy of rock band and import the songs into my RB2 (as well as him doing it), so long as I buy the licence? Or is there something to stop this?
bigjrussell @ Sep 4th 2008 6:39PM
So..... what about DLC? That's already stored on the hard drive, will RB2 just see it and pick it up. I must have missed something.
Richard Mitchell @ Sep 4th 2008 7:15PM
Yup. Rock Band 1 DLC will work with RB2 right out of the box.
Timur Tabi @ Sep 4th 2008 7:45PM
It says that songs can be deleted after the transfer. If I delete a song, will I be able to transfer it again without paying another $5?
AlexMeth @ Sep 4th 2008 7:53PM
What if you export the songs and delete some of your least favorite songs cough*creep*cough and then realize you want it back? Can you re-export the tracks for free at will? or is it limited to 1 time-use?
Scott Talbot @ Sep 4th 2008 9:51PM
How come your castle crashers theme has a sick animation in the background?
Richard Mitchell @ Sep 4th 2008 10:15PM
The ripple effect is from my Vision Camera.
Michael @ Sep 4th 2008 10:33PM
Hey, how do you get that water effect on the dashboard? It's pretty cool. I'd like to know how to do that.
ordigas @ Sep 4th 2008 11:32PM
For that you need the Live Vision Camera. Once you have it press the guide button and go to "Personal Settings/Themes/Customize/Camera Effect".
Orphik x @ Sep 4th 2008 10:56PM
So my question is, after saving these songs to your hard drive. You come home with RB2. pop it in, ( and i would assume there would be and import option) do these songs stay in your hard drive, or make a new RB2 save? use the existing RB save?
w33z3r @ Sep 5th 2008 6:14AM
Same questions as 32,33
StLouisRibs7734 @ Sep 5th 2008 10:50PM
No promised land?
AJ @ Sep 6th 2008 11:11PM
Richard, are you on a 4:3 TV or is that just the way the video came out? I thought Dustin was the last one to get on the HD bandwagon.
ccfman2004 @ Sep 10th 2008 7:27AM
Promised Land is a free DLC.
