A Left 4 Dead demo beheaded to 360
Valve's Gabe Newell has confirmed to VideoGamer.com that a Left 4 Dead demo is on its way to the Xbox Live Marketplace. Trust us when we tell you that this is very good news. The demo is set to include single-player and online co-op (!) and will feature "the first part of one of the campaigns," which Newell suggest will "probably" be the Hospital level that has been shown to the press (though the final decision rests with Doug Lombardi). Unfortunately, there is no concrete release date set for the demo just yet. Here's hoping we get it before the game's November 21 release. Sooner would be better than later, because our zombie shooting trigger finger is itchy.
[Thanks, Rob]
After taking Left 4 Dead for a survival horror test drive during E3 2008, we came away quite impressed! Read our E3 Left 4 Dead impressions to learn why Valve's latest zombie masterpiece will have you screaming with bloody enjoyment.

I'll be downloading this demo, but be warned: if you keep making awful puns, I'm going to stop visiting this site.
Okay, that was an empty threat.

Can't wait....Hopefully the demo will help me decide if i should get the game or not. Because as of right now I'm not that interested.

Left 4 Dead doesn't seem all that revolutionary. Co-op shooter...been there many times.
riot9 @ Sep 11th 2008 4:45PM
The difference between this and other co-op shooters is the AI Director. This game feels epic to play. It knows exactly when to throw zombies at you in waves, and it knows when you need a few seconds to rest. It always feels like a life or death struggle. I played it at PAX, and it is now an absolute must buy for me.

On reserve... gonna be a good title.

God bless 'em for making a coop demo. For a game where coop is a big draw, it will be nice to kick the tires.
This will also make it an easier sell for my cheap-ass friends, since they'll be able to make their own call on it.
Thanks Valve. This is a triumph.

This game looks great. I will definitely be picking this one up. I'm surprised no PS3 Fanboys have posted a negative comment about this game and Valve's position with the PS3 yet.
nick @ Sep 11th 2008 4:21PM

When you say 28 Days Later-esque, does that mean that headshots are required?
