First look at games played in New Xbox Experience

Gamerscore Blog has posted an update regarding how games played are viewed in the New Xbox Experience. In the screenshot above, you can see that The traditional Gamercard and options are in the front, while all the games played on a profile fan off to the right. Every game played on a given profile will have its own card (three cards for the three games played in this example) that displays the achievements earned so far. Also included on each card are two progress bars that display how many points and achievements you've earned versus the total amount available (that's going to make us feel a lot better about our gamerscore). Pretty decent additions if you ask us.
This is part one of a series of posts that Gamerscore Blog will be doing on the New Xbox Experience as it gets closer to launch. Rest assured we'll keep our eyes open for future updates. Check out a hi-res version of the screenshot in the gallery below.

Can we chat and use all XBL features while playing XB 1 games?!
Mrblonde @ Sep 12th 2008 7:29PM
No cause the xbox is using the emulation software and can't use the 360 features.
Phour ZwanZig @ Sep 12th 2008 10:26PM
Yeah, the 360, almost seems to reboot and load a dif OS from what I can tell when you play Fatbox games from disc.. Not sure if its the same for Downloads..
El Capitaine @ Sep 12th 2008 11:01PM
Xbox Originals is essentially the same thing as putting the disc in, which in turn is pretty much the same thing as turning on your Xbox 1.
The Guide will say 'not available' if pressed during a Xbox 1 game, and you won't be online unless you are for that XB1 game.
The only thing is, if you start a custom soundtrack in the dash, it'll continue to play in your Xbox 1 game.
smak @ Sep 12th 2008 6:08PM
as long as the interface doesn't LAGGGGGGG, i'm a happy camper.
Josh @ Sep 13th 2008 8:42AM
I'm with you, I can't stand how everything I do on the current System feels a second behind the button press.
Rick @ Sep 12th 2008 6:26PM
It would be cool to see some kind of fluid graphics (IE: the smoke background thing on the PS3 or the orange/pink ghastly flow at the bottom of the screen when playing songs in the Zune software).
I love the current dash. The complaints everyone else had never hit me, besides the additional monitor support
Anticrawl @ Sep 12th 2008 11:24PM
There is a reason the 360 performs better in the real world and the PS3 has more powerful theoretical specs. Simple answer is Microsoft set aside less to the OS and Dashboard features than the PS3 did. The difference between the 13% not available to use in the PS3 because of all the needless features is huge compared to the 3-6% reserved on the 360.
Of course it is obviously more complicated than I made it sound, but that is for the laymen.
francisco @ Sep 12th 2008 6:31PM
this patch is taking too long :(
Andrew @ Sep 12th 2008 7:44PM
It's not Fall yet.
Paul @ Sep 13th 2008 12:18AM
although i know updates aren't guaranteed, we never got a spring update. so technically we should have had some of this update, perhaps, in the spring. i wonder how much of this microsoft had ready around spring time and what made them decide to give us nothing in the spring (except the drm tool) and save all of this for the fall. hmmm
joker ant @ Sep 12th 2008 6:48PM
I never really had a problem with the old dash, but I'm seeing the NXE as something far better. I just hope avatars show some variety. Will I be able to create a not-really-fat-but-not-in-shape, bearded, nerd-goggle-wearing, trekking, metal-haired-egg-headed, sweat-soaked, long-armed otaku? Frak, now I feel insecure about myself. xD
Jcarpio @ Sep 12th 2008 6:52PM
Let the nerd flag wave man.. don't be ashamed. If only they would release star wars or star trek gear for the avatars.
Perno @ Sep 12th 2008 10:06PM
You know that's a good point...they hardly ever let you make your guy fat enough. I'm 6' 2" and I look like about 215lbs even though I'm about 235, but I like to my my likenesses nice and chubby. Microsoft, make me a nice and chubby option!!!
Arnon @ Sep 13th 2008 12:01AM
Rare said the customization is limitless.. so probably! ^_^
ryan @ Sep 12th 2008 6:53PM
i think it'd be kinda better in a way to flip them along a cylinder track instead of diagonal perspective. that way you can see all options at once still like the blades. just a thought. i'll get used to the new update either way.
oh, and does anyone know if a wallpaper is always zoomed in to 1/4 of it's original or can we have it take up the full screen w/ options to transparent the windows similar to the current desktop?
Alex @ Sep 12th 2008 6:56PM
Before I start, i know that what I'm about to say will rank me so low that i'll be in Hell, but do I have the option of keeping the traditional Dashboard type? I will give this a go, but I still prefer the original design.
Rick @ Sep 12th 2008 7:04PM
From what i have read, unless you never connect your 360 to the internet again you will have to upgrade to the new dash.
superrrguy @ Sep 12th 2008 6:57PM
The current dash is awful but it works.
Go to this blade to download, then this one to play it.
Any chance they'll make media center extender usable?
Tony @ Sep 12th 2008 7:00PM
I'm somewhat scared that this is going to require flipping through boxes constantly...which doesn't seem to fix the whole menu after menu issue the current system has.
Guess we'll see soon.
typeusername @ Sep 13th 2008 10:38AM
Agreed, Hopefully it will run faster or something
Stuart @ Sep 12th 2008 7:14PM

P.S. Xbox 360 fanboy could you put this as a news headline?
P.P.S. Beta starts 30th september
P.P.P.S. Sorry if this has been said before!
Anticrawl @ Sep 13th 2008 12:32AM
Haha, the private EndWar beta was months ago dude, not really news for the few of us US gamers that got a chance to play.
We are still under the NDA I think but uhhh... don't get too excited dude. I can say that much.
SoulPatch @ Sep 12th 2008 7:31PM
What if you've played 50 games? Are you going to have 50 cards stacked up? Wouldn't that look a little cramped? If you rent games often, and play for a little while, and gain some achievements, its quite possible to have a whole bunch of cards. I like lists better...but, I am probably one out of a million.
DBoyFlex @ Sep 13th 2008 12:46PM
I agree. I hope it is streamlined cause it could be kinda crappy trying to dig through card after card to find a game.
joeybeast @ Sep 12th 2008 11:18PM
It's new and nice.
Procris @ Sep 12th 2008 9:37PM
As others have said, i'm totally confused how this is meant to solve the problem. Which by the way, the only problem is with market place. I have no other problems with the current Blade system.
Yay a billion boxes i've got to scroll through to find the thing i want. Thats soooo much better than having to click through 3-4 lists /sarcasm off.
Next concern is, why is the option to edit profile, manage account in the Games Played part of the dash? Those make way more sense in the systems settings area.
I do like the overall look of the new dash (i'm really not a hater) but some of this looks like its had little thought put in.
Phour ZwanZig @ Sep 12th 2008 10:29PM
Support for SWF would rock.. I agree thou, MS seems to be missing on that one.. I mean, almost all Cell phones now have support for SWF & AniGIF files, Why cant we have the same for our backgrounds.. Hell even Vista lets you play MPEG video using DreamScene or whatever.. HD even of all things..
Come on MS, let us have ani backgrounds PLZZZZZ
Phour ZwanZig @ Sep 12th 2008 10:30PM
Almost Andrew..
1 more week.. Then its fall..
Fred @ Sep 13th 2008 12:08AM
I'm loving the new dash!!
beasty @ Sep 13th 2008 2:12AM
i hope the little mii gank is something you can disable because the childish and yet highly pointles nature of the wii is why i gave mine away. new age group, awesome but more children yelling into their mics on halo, cant go wrong there
Jake @ Sep 13th 2008 6:44AM
The 360 is for kids, so not it's not able to be switched off, the Xbox kiddies love cute little Mii's
If yhou don't like these things, why did you buy the kiddie console?
beasty @ Sep 13th 2008 12:21PM
well the ps3 fanboys aren't getting any smarter lately. why would anyone wanna play the subpar online games sony has to offer? theres such an expanive library of 360 games.
R_Fusion @ Sep 13th 2008 2:10AM
Pretty nice! I'll show off a decent library of games and not just 5. Oohhh my ego, my gamerscore. Burn friends of mine (which are next door)
Jake @ Sep 13th 2008 6:42AM
We all know how the new xbox gaming experience goes.
Buya game, play it for a while, get RROD, phone 0800FixMySh1ttyBox, get coffin a week later, send dead Xbox away, get repaired Xbox 3weeks later, plug in, discover it too is broken, apply for Coffin, get coffin a week later, send of refurbed console, wait 3 weeks, get another refurbed console, fortunatly this one still works. Install dashboard update, RROD, phone for coffin, wait for coffin, send unit back...
Repeat ad infinitum...
SKirkham1967A @ Sep 13th 2008 8:58AM
I'm actually looking forward to the new dashboard.
DBoyFlex @ Sep 13th 2008 10:21AM
Damn, Ike has been a bitch. Sorry, thought I would state that. Luckily I still have power!
decadeofevil @ Sep 13th 2008 3:12PM
well i cant wait for the new dash.. but i sure hope they add ipod touch support.. about the avatars if they are as great to create as making creatures in spore then im sold
victor360hd @ Sep 13th 2008 8:59PM
i cant wait
josh @ Sep 15th 2008 1:25PM
As long as it comes out before all the good games do so it gives me something to play with while I wait...
