Video: Gears of War 2's 'Weapons of War'

Fresh off Epic Games' editing room table comes the second new Gears of War 2 video featurette. The first video was all about the sounds of Gears 2, this second video is all about the weapons you'll be using to dish out death come November 7th.

Check out the six minute "Weapons of War" video (embedded after the break for your convenience) to get learned about all the new and upcoming Gears 2 weapons, including the new Mulcher, Scorcher, Gorgon and witness some new bloody awesome executions including the Torque Bow head pop. Speaking of the Bow, Epic added extra dialog for the two second detonation delay (nice!) and be sure to look for the new detonation effects. Extra credit to those who can spot the new achievement progress screen and crazy awesome Predator-like enemy. He's the evil dude you see above ... how delicious!

That would be the Skorge the predator like creature with a staff that has chainsaws on the end.

I have a good feeling this character will also be available in MP.

ho-lee-crap that pred Skorge looks awesome.

i'm glad they are taking the time to put new rigs into characters vs. using the same one for aliens and humans. it's good to see another lithe character (other than wreches).

Resistance 2...

One is a 1st person shooter and the other is a 3rd person action game. Can't really compare them.

One game has 60 players online and the other has 10 players online. One game has 2 campaign modes and the other one has 1 campaign mode. One game has 8 player co-op and the other has 2 players co-op.

So?

of course i can compare them. they are alien shooters. they use creative guns. they come out this fall. i just find Gears to be a richer more solid experience from all the dev vids i've seen. i'll chose the one that i'm pretty sure i'll get more enjoyment out of.

so yeah, sorry to offend your precious R2 franchise (it really has no marketing potential), but any hype i had for it has been blown out the window by Gears 2. this dev vid has confirmed that.

I have to say, this video series they got where they have that screen in the background is awesome, i am really loving it.

Couple of notes, that last screen shot where its the epic games logo, i would love to be able to get all those images they used that they drop down on the table, some of them look SICK.

I agree with the predator dude, he looks awesome and that boomer with all the armor that i believe Dom is shooting, that dude looks nasty, and by nasty i mean, SICK and by sick he looks tough, i have a new favorite character after the boomer, and its that dude.
