Halo Superintendent is back, special news incoming

He's baaaaaack! The Superintendent has once again graced Bungie.net with his plumbing presence warning Halo fanboys to "KEEP IT CLEAN!" You know, because he's the Superintendent and he says so.
If you recall (more info here), Bungie's little green box known as the Superintendent made his presence known during E3 when it became pretty clear he was somehow tied to Bungie's next big project reveal. Sadly, politics happened and Bungie didn't get to announce their project and the Superintendent went into hibernation. But now he's back and with Bungie's Weekly Update hinting that "the night is darkest just before the dawn" and that "dawn is about to break", we have a hunch that the BIG Bungie announcement is coming soon. In the meantime, please, keep it clean.
[Thanks, to everyone who sent this in]

I saw this and was about to send it

Im curious now...
BURGLARKING @ Sep 20th 2008 1:17AM
Do you guys think the "\ RECEPIENT: PROWLER “TOKYO RULES” [COMM.DUTY.OFFICER]" line hints an announcement at TGS08 in october?
Intentless @ Sep 20th 2008 9:27AM
I think so...
Johnny Rama @ Sep 25th 2008 8:24PM
"Tokyo Rules" is a UNSC Prowler, there's a duty officer on board communicating with the Superindendent.
Mr.U2 @ Sep 20th 2008 1:38AM
Sweet. Can't wait to see what the announcement ends up being.
I DeX I @ Sep 20th 2008 1:45AM
I'm confused. If it is, indeed, a new map pack or expansion pack, what the heck does "Keep It Clean" have to do with that? Every time I read that saying, the only thing that comes to mind is to keep the language and behavior clean within the game environment.
Josh @ Sep 20th 2008 9:53AM
I'm doubting they would do this for a new map pack or an expansion pack. This has to be their next game and I get the feeling it is a game set in the Halo universe but having nothing to do with Master Chief.
Decapit8 @ Sep 20th 2008 2:06AM
what's halo?
SadisticHam @ Sep 20th 2008 2:16AM
This better be a new game and not some over priced crappy map pack after all this hype.
Scott K @ Sep 20th 2008 2:16AM
So Harvey Dent will somehow be involved in the next Bungie game?
DC502 @ Sep 20th 2008 2:34AM
who knows what the announcement is going to be. My guess is a new game. Halo in my opinion is getting tired.
Procris @ Sep 20th 2008 3:39AM
Considering the top line reads: UNSC OFFICE OF NAVAL INTELLIGENCE. Its safe to assume its Halo related.
Lets hope something actually gets announced this time, instead of creating needless hype.
Brian @ Sep 20th 2008 5:09AM
My guess is they will give more details about the new banning system. 'Keep it clean' sounds like they want Halo 3 to be fair and no cheaters, they want it clean. But these 'details' will be very shocking to the halo community hence the hype.
I hope I'm wrong :P. But they better say something quick because I'm getting pissed off at waiting. Maybe something will get said on the 23rd, when the update and new banning system is meant to be released?
oh hang on, maybe they are just hyping up the 23rd considering the banning system will get actived on then.
ChewyDogg @ Sep 20th 2008 5:56AM
New maps AND 3rd person, squad-based Halo prequel.
harry @ Sep 20th 2008 9:16AM
Well, I played Halo 1 again the other day, and i noticed on the walls on the first level and that there are posters that say "Keep It Clean". Not sure what to make of it tho. Like, by saying that for their next project, does that hint where they are going?
Helloimbob @ Sep 20th 2008 9:51AM
Yeah this Superintendent seems to have lots of Halo 1 related quotes, for example one of the old wallpapers when he first came around was 'Hitchhikers may be escaping convicts' which was a Halo 1 Mission...
Josh @ Sep 20th 2008 9:55AM
Hm... maybe a Halo and Halo 2 rerelease using the Halo 3 physics and graphics engines? That could certainly be interesting...
slipknot0129 @ Sep 20th 2008 4:30PM
jeffrey i dont agree with you, halo 3 sucks
Dustin Leiblein @ Sep 20th 2008 11:08AM
Is the Superintendent actually Harvey Dent? The so called "White Knight" of Gotham?
halongw77 @ Sep 20th 2008 11:19AM
It's not a Halo 1 and 2 rerelease and I'll tell you why. Just ask yourself, why would they do that when we have Halo 3, the third and final game in the trilogy. Halo 1 and 2 are a part of the past now, we won't be seeing these rereleased until the time Halo 3 is ready to be rereleased. Which probably won't be for a long time.
silentshadowxp @ Sep 20th 2008 11:37AM
i have an idea, what if it's a humorous game set during the same times as halo 1 2 and 3? except not following the chief, following the SI? and he's constantly helping out the chief in the background without him knowing?
i'd buy that :-p
and i agree that the tokyo thing probably hints at TGS for the reveal... does this mean we can expect rare's announcement then too?
zourskittles @ Sep 20th 2008 11:48AM
I cant remember their names, but theres a group of superheros who clean up the battles after REAL superheros, you just never saw them in the real comics, so maybe you play superintendent and have to go cleaning up dead bodies and broken scarabs. Haha, i dunno.
Adam @ Sep 20th 2008 12:22PM
obviously its the announcement about the ban system...
jas0nuk @ Sep 20th 2008 12:39PM
I wonder if this "dawn" stuff is also linked in with the scene at the end of Halo 3...
Fire Fawkes @ Sep 20th 2008 1:22PM
Hooray! Time to get excited all over again. Bungie sure knows how to string everyone along...
skfireboy @ Sep 20th 2008 2:11PM
I would bet the announcement will come at Tokyo Game Show....that's where Microsoft announced Halo Wars 2 years ago.....I sure would like some info on that Peter Jackson project cause I haven't heard a thing about it since that same Tokyo Game Show........oh yeah and how did Harvey Dent get into this thread? I just don't understand people sometimes............
btfosho @ Sep 21st 2008 1:48AM
heres a hint. This is a new game. Spans approximately 3 days prior to master chief being woken up in halo 1. You play as a low ranking marine. 3rd person American rpg a la kotor.
End of hint
scott @ Sep 20th 2008 6:01PM
eh? MS announced Halo Wars at the end of X06. Not TGS
J4R3D @ Sep 20th 2008 9:55PM
Bungie is siding with Sony! What an announcement that would be. Wouldn't that be a ball breaker for you guys. haha.
dmb360 @ Sep 20th 2008 11:24PM
Yawn..... They had my attention before, not as interested now.
Brian @ Sep 21st 2008 5:49AM
oh come on you lame people, why vote my comment down?. It's not like you lot can input any good answer. Bunch of fools.
Brian @ Sep 21st 2008 5:51AM
I just seen another comment about the ban system and it got low ranked. What is up with you stupid people? Abusing the comment section isn't fun. Are you scared of the new ban system in halo 3 or something?
freaks.
scottores @ Apr 19th 2009 5:07PM
ok so i just popped over to the bungie.net website and had a look at this newest hint from bungie, first off: how can anyone get a new game out of that? don't you guys remember the article that the 360 fanboys threw down that had bungie telling all of us to pump the breaks and calm down? it's not a new game! but what it looks like and from the conversation between the superintendent and the unsc office is that when you report someone for anything, eg. swearing, profanity bla bla bla they have a new system in place to actually look into it somehow as the whole conversation seems to be with bungie throwing that part in there about the "profanity"
Neuromancer @ Sep 21st 2008 3:11PM
Let's all get excited over something we know nothing about!!! Go Bungie, you guys rock!!!
John @ Sep 21st 2008 6:14PM
I don't think this will be a new game announcement. Considering the fact that Halo 3 itself was announced May 9, 2006(which is more than 1.5 years after the release of Halo 2(Nov 9 2004) and the announcement was at a major event E3). Only one year difference in between a new halo announcement and release of Halo 3 makes me skeptical. However, what else can they announce at this level of hype that they have created around this. I really doubt its going to be a map pack or BanHammer or any update in Halo 3. Perhaps Peter Jacksons project? the movie(though that should most likely come from Microsoft themselves)?
AjDaChipmunk @ Sep 21st 2008 6:37PM
Who knows maybe it will have something to do with Halo "Blue" that was posted for release in the Walmart Product Database for September 30th?
We shall see....
Dinesh @ Sep 22nd 2008 3:49AM
Can't wait for the big announcement!
