The Rare crew just sent us information regarding the
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts pre-order program where you can score a
free copy of the XBLA title
Banjo-Kazooie. We guess there was some confusion among eager pre-orderers who weren't exactly sure which retailers were offering
Banjo-Kazooie redemption codes with
Nuts & Bolts pre-orders. Well, Rare came to the rescue and created a handy list of participating retailers for every country. That list is below. Happy pre-ordering.
- UK: Amazon, Play.com, Game and Gamestation
- USA: Amazon, EBGames, GameStop and GameCrazy
- FRANCE: Micromania and Game
- SPAIN: Game
- ITALY: GameStop
- SCANDINAVIA: Game and GameStop
- CANADA, JAPAN, IRELAND, GERMANY, AUSTRIA, BENELUX, SWITZERLAND, AUSTRALIA and NEW ZEALAND are participating, but participating retailers have yet to be confirmed.

Nice, this is going to be sweet. Hopefully the graphics will hold up. Does anyone know if the original supported widescreen displays?
Tony @ Sep 25th 2008 2:27PM
The original game didn't, but I was reading this at Gamerbytes: http://www.gamerbytes.com/2008/09/banjo_kazooie_preview.php
It's a hands on preview with it and specifically mentions it runs in widescreen. Obviously the resolution is increased and the antialiasing is improved... but I guess they've also redone all of the text and HUD graphics, fixed the framerate issues and pushed back the fog the original game used.
Neuromancer @ Sep 25th 2008 2:38PM
Good find Tony, that makes this even more exciting.

How much is the original alone?
I mean I could go to Gamestop, preorder the game for 5 bucks, get code, not buy the game, transfer the 5 to GoW2... ???
Neuromancer @ Sep 25th 2008 2:39PM
You may not get the $5 back, not sure though.
AoE @ Sep 25th 2008 2:44PM
1200 MSP/$15.
Jason @ Sep 25th 2008 4:05PM
Even if this plan worked, you'd still miss out on the full experience. Stop N Swop is finally being realized and the only way to activate it is by using BK3's achievements.

When is the code sent to you? Is it on the day that Nuts & Bolts releases or do you get it when you preorder?
readmore @ Sep 25th 2008 2:26PM
They confirm Scandinavia but not Canada?
AoE @ Sep 25th 2008 2:46PM
No... go back and read carefully (or, read more?). You'll note that they did confirm that Canada will be getting the deal, but they hadn't confirmed specific retailers.
readmore @ Sep 25th 2008 3:48PM
No duh. that's what I meant
AoE @ Sep 25th 2008 6:22PM
lol, perhaps you should read less and learn to write more then ;) If you go back and read your very short sentence that really doesn't leave any room for misinterpretation you'll note that you mention countries only but say nothing about stores.
So... regarding "no duh", you're a poor communicator buddy!

For what it's worth, Zavvi and HMV are both advertising the preorder bonus on their sites for UKers. Respective links at http://www.zavvi.co.uk/banjo+kazooie-Banjo-Kazooie-Nuts-And-Bolts/869209/q.r10.1/p.jsf and http://hmv.com/hmvweb/simpleSearch.do?searchUID=&pGroupID=-1&adultFlag=false&primaryID=-1&simpleSearchString=banjo+kazooie&btnSubmitSearch.x=0&btnSubmitSearch.y=0
From what looking around I've done Zavvi is the cheapest right now.

Just pre-ordered now at amazon.com for $36.99 no tax free shipping. Thanx for reminding me X3F.
flameofdoom666 @ Sep 25th 2008 5:40PM
Why does mine have tax?!
AoE @ Sep 25th 2008 6:28PM
@flameofdoom666,
You live in a state that Amazon has a physical presence in. On the internet, sales tax is only charged when you happen to be in the same state the business in question is operating in.
flameofdoom666 @ Sep 26th 2008 2:26AM
ugh! Still an amazing deal! Its like getting Banjo Kazooie for $25!

Just pre-orderd it at my EBGames/GameStop.
I only wonder when the codes will be given out...
8675309 @ Oct 17th 2008 12:16AM
i guess will get the code 2 weeks before the release date which is currently nov. 11 which happens to be remembrance day!
vidGuy @ Sep 25th 2008 10:31PM
I was going to just buy the original game, but with the $15 price, I figure that Nuts and Bolts has to be worth the extra $22. (Pre-)ordered.
contagiousmind @ Sep 26th 2008 4:38AM
When I first read that this would be $40 in the US with the pre-order bonus, I hoped that it would be a similar price in the UK, but as it's going to be £40, I doubt i'll be pre-ordering it, probably just buy the original off XBLA! I hate the difference in price!
Consoleshop @ Sep 29th 2008 3:53AM
The free code for the Nintendo 64 is also available at Consoleshop.nl and Consoleshop.be for the Netherlands and Belgium!
8675309 @ Oct 19th 2008 12:36AM
