$130 Mirror's Edge includes Timbuk2 messenger bag

Sure, it's much nicer than GameStop's pre-order bag but do you really need that $130 strapped to your sholder when so many great games are hitting by years end? Well, if you do need it we guess it could be worse ... at least it isn't priced at Timbuk200 dollars! Amirite?

So this is the way limited and special editions are heading - don't bother with DVD-style behind the scenes, just pack it with an expensive marketable product instead.

I'd like to point out that Timbuk2 bags are excellent bike bags, and that even the plain ones start at about $90 on their site. I have one, and it has proven to be waterproof and tough as nails. I'm actually considering this...

I'd second that. My Timbuk2 has lasted through years of all-season bike commuting, save a little wear in the velcro (but nothing that'll stop me from using it). My SO uses a smaller style as a purse and is pretty happy with it too. So
long as these bags are the same quality, it's a pretty good deal. I probably could have lived without the huge image of Faith on the
inside--the outer design is a subtle enough "hey, look I'm a gamer" reference for me.

It's a shame that some people are willing to pay this price for the "extras". Granted, it's their God-given right, but game companies will just continue to see how far they can push the envelope in order to get money from the Limited Editions.
I remember Wal-Mart online had the Halo 3 bundle, helmet and all that other stuff for $59.99! That was a promotion for a limited time and I jumped on that.
I think it is ridiculous that we are now approaching the $150 mark for Limited Edition games. $130 for a game and a bag? That is ridiculous. Even Dead Space is pushing the envelope with their price... The only Limited Edition that I paid over $59.99 was BioShock. That was due to the figurine that came with the game.
Anyway, I guess some people are willing to pay the high prices for the "extras". Who cares about a behind the scenes DVD? All the footage usually ends up on gametrailers.com or youtube. To each their own I guess...

I can't believe the kinda stuff they are adding to LE anymore. A freaking chainsaw? A pip boy alarm clock thingy? Sidebags?Ok, so some of the stuff is pretty cool. I do like the lockbox and duffle from GTA. I would buy that again in a heartbeat. I also preordered the Fable 2 LE, but for 2 good reasons. 1 It comes with in game content, and 2 I got it for 66 bucks from amazon that one day. If it were 80 I would not have done it. I think I will pass on this one.

guess what! no one HAS to buy them! the only real criticism that i can see is that if this becomes the new trend, then we'll never have the good 'ol editions of yesteryear. it will be the normal game, and then the $90-150 LE game. which means that pretty soon my house will be void of game-tie-in merch, and my wallet will be a little heavier...

You know what? No company HAS to offer them either. These bundles have "sucker" written all over them, and are kinda offensive to think we'll all snap 'em up.

When it comes down to ether getting 1 $150 LE edition game or getting 2 or 3 normal edition games I think the choice is obvious when there are so many freaking GREAT games coming out this holiday season and so little money to spend on them.

looks very Canadian! sorry, but $80 is my stop for for limited/collectors editions. even if they are "limited", you can still find them(like a whole lot of them) months later on the cheap like the Halo 3 Helmet edition.

I couldn't tell anyone to (or not to) purchase this LE package. What I can say, is that it is one helluva bargain.
For those of you who are into messenger bags (not the cheap $20 bags you get at Walmart that fall apart if you sneeze on them the wrong way, but the good ones that you can put through hell, and they still last forever), you probably already know that Timbuk2's handmade bags are some of the best. Those of you who are in the know, know that Timbuk2 goodness does not come cheaply . . . not very often at least.
The bag that EA is selling with this package, looks identical (except for the Mirror's Edge artwork) to my current customized Timbuk2 Classic Messenger bag which ran my $155.oo.
Now EA is selling the exact same bag for $130, which is already a $25 savings. But EA's bag comes with a copy of Mirror's Edge, which pretty much means you wind up paying $70 for a $155 bag.
As I said before, it's a bargain. It's just not a bargain for everyone. If you are not into quality bags, then obviously, you could care less.
Understandable.
But for those of us who are into quality bags, this is a real bargain. The icing on the cake being, we get some kickass, Mirror's Edge artwork not only on the exterior of the bag, but also we get artwork of Faith, on the bag's interior.

which is why I'm a little concerned about the quality of the bag - the deal's too good to be true. Besides the fact that it's not like the Dead Space limited edition where those are online-only and numbered, which means that they are going to ship oodles of these all over the place and I doubt that Timbuk2 would be able to keep up with that kind of order from EA without suffering in quality. Wait for a review/someone else to buy it first, especially since (at least in my case) this is not a day 1 purchase.

I've been hauling Timbuk2 bags for the past 7 years. They are damn near indestructable.
I checked with Timbuk2 customer service after finding out about this LE and they let me know that it's their medium messenger bag model (for those of you who might be interested). Personally, $130 for a game and a Timbuk2 bag is a great deal. I've already got mine pre-ordered.

Man, I wish I had ordered this bag, I didnt have the money until now and when I go order it, it says sold out, I hope these people are right and they show up on eBay soon, because I would definitely want one!
