Alan Wake cinematic trailer to debut October 15th

The rumor was true! Developer Remedy will be debuting a new cinematic trailer for Alan Wake on October 15th at Finland's Max Payne movie premiere. For serious!
Finnish magazine Pelaaja just uploaded an exclusive interview with Alan Wake lead writer Sami Järven (recapped on the Alan Wake forums due to it being in Finnish) and informed us that a new Alan Wake cinematic trailer would debut during the Max Payne movie premier at the Finnkino movie theaters on October 15th. The trailer will only feature in-game cinematics and no actual gameplay, because Remedy is still holding their cards close to their chest. But, to hold you over for the next few weeks, Remedy released a screen-grab teaser from the upcoming Alan Wake cinematic trailer. Anyone excited to see what Remedy has been up to for the past 12 years?

ahh I can't wait for this game
I remember back in 2006 and the graphics looked ridiculously good
I just hope they have still kept them cutting edge (at least for the PC release...)

If that screen is any indication of the final product, I better start warming up those salivary glands... I have a lot of drooling to do. Looks pretty Cutting Edge in my book :)
Seriously, that is one of the most amazing character models I've ever seen. If they get their animation right, I have no problem dethroning Half-Life 2 as the most "human" game ever made. I'm stoked for the 15th!

Holy fucking shit batman!!! The graphics looks ridiculously good. Dare I say better than GoW 2. I just hope that these weren't "touched up" a la EA games or Kill Zone. This is still a 360 exclusive right?

Just to add to that, I doubt the graphics in that one shot are ingame at all, but the 12 in the gallery are from more than 2 years ago, just to put it into perspective of what we should expect :)

Dustin, they can put up 50 trailers for all I care. Until they tell me a release date it ain't work a damn. Don't even give them any press.

i wouldn't start calling this the most "realisitc human graphics ever" just yet.
not to bust in with PS3 bragging rights (if anyone knows me, i'm a pretty big fan of the 360 moreso), but Heavy Rain gives this game a run for it's money in the realistic graphics department.
i never got the excitement for this game from it's initial reveal. it's good to see it shaping up and all, but i still don't see it's draw/hook.

Heavy Rain runs in a different manner though.. as it seems you don't have to control most of the game itself, so it's almost like an Interactive.
This also brings up the question of:
"Is it dynamic?" Which really adds to the realism..
And no, I'm not ragging on Heavy Rain. I'm going to be picking up both games.. just thought I would say that tidbit

Sami Järven should be Sami Järvi.

Uhm, not to piss on your parade, but it's a screen grab of the in game cinematics. It's said nowhere that these are engine rendered, they might as well be pre rendered.
Exo @ Oct 4th 2008 5:12AM
it says cinimatic trailer. so it cant be said weather its ingame or not, its just a trailer
Simon @ Oct 4th 2008 6:30AM
Uhm, actually the text says "The trailer will only feature in-game cinematics".
avan @ Oct 4th 2008 5:49AM
looks like an ingame screen shot to me or why the big arrow at the bottom of the screen, free roam anyone?
Wakey @ Oct 4th 2008 11:32AM
It's not pre-rendered. http://www.brightfalls.net/news/433/

It must be set in fantasy land... regular gas is only $2.99 in shot #7 :)
j.howlett @ Oct 6th 2008 1:40AM
i thought something similar when playing gta4 this weekend.

The best thing would be if there was a release date after the trailer. Screw release date, just give us a time frame!
