Shipping this week: Earth shattering edition
We mean the headline literally, you see, because this week's marquee title (arguably) is Fracture. You may recall Fracture as the earth molding third person shooter from LucasArts. If you don't remember it -- and we wouldn't blame you -- there's a demo of the game available on Xbox Live Marketplace right now. We've also got a platformer, two basketball titles, and ... um ... Guilty Gear 2: Overture. All told, we have:
Anyone out there planning to pick something up this week?

Neuromancer @ Oct 6th 2008 11:42AM
Saints Row 2, it's going to be a lot of fun I'm sure. Doesn't come out until next week though.
Nothing this week interests me but that's fine since I'm still playing through RB2.
joeybeast @ Oct 6th 2008 11:47AM
you get to drive in Saints Row 2
you don't get to shot / be a pimp in Midnight Club.

I'll probably grab one of the NBA games. Don't know which one yet. I tried the fracture demo and found the combat portion horrid, so I'll pass on that one.
Stupendous52 @ Oct 6th 2008 11:50AM
Get NBA 2k9 . . . it should be the best simulation basketball title to date. I know I'll be picking it up!
firerock @ Oct 6th 2008 12:16PM
2k9 is better by far. But if you want more arcade style basketball, you should get live.
Fire Fawkes @ Oct 6th 2008 2:53PM
Yeah, that's the hitch. I like sim sports games, but I'm pretty awful at the 2k8 demo...I'll try both demos and whichever one I pick up easier I'll probably go with.
wargamer17 @ Oct 6th 2008 11:27AM
I'll defiantly be picking up Fracture. Really liked the demo. Not interesting in the others at all. Hopefully my store has a copy for me.
josh @ Oct 6th 2008 12:36PM
Man, that Fracture demo blew butthole, it was kind of neat at first but I can't imagine it being very useful to move the ground in any other way than occasional cover and the little puzzles they made you do.
It's so generic looking too, really why would you get this one when there's games coming out later this year that shatter this one from the Earth in comparison.
Yeah I said it.
Mazrael @ Oct 6th 2008 1:36PM
Fracture really was bad.. & really didn't feel all that technical at all, a below par shooter, only slightly better than Blacksite 51.. though I didn't have much hope for it after playing Star Wars: Force Suppressed (Anyone play Fable 1 with repulse & the lightning attack - that, was kickass!)
I'm sure I've seen better terrain deformation in Populous too..
Chris @ Oct 6th 2008 12:00PM
I'm gonna get a basketball game...any opinions on which is better? NBA Live or NBA2K9?
alex thomas @ Oct 6th 2008 12:05PM
fracture is interesting and is my pick for the week, I'm just not a big fan of NBA games (probably because I'm really bad at them).
Jonman @ Oct 6th 2008 12:08PM
Nothing for me this week. I'll be taking a deep breath during this calm before the storm...
Neuromancer @ Oct 6th 2008 12:10PM
Did anyone actually think "Mind over Mutant" was a funny name? If so they should be shot
Zack @ Oct 6th 2008 1:18PM
I am definitely picking up Guilty Gear 2 Overture and Blazblue later on. GG2O is radically different than the other games, and it looks like something I'd really enjoy (I'm one of those Dynasty Warriors fans).

the red controller is out now. though i didnt see at best buy or circuit city, just at gamestop. and it was only the controller with the charge kit included. "I" thought the red was cool looking, but i already have the two battery charge thing.
