Analyst: 360's Sept. NPD sales best of 2008

According to video game sales analyst Jesse Divnich of Electronic Entertainment Design and Research (EEDAR), the Xbox 360's North American sales for September were impressive, 31% better than August's NPD weekly sales numbers.

Mr. Divnich just released a report estimating September's NPD sales and claims that Microsoft's 360 price cut spurred console sales in the region to the tune of 320,000 units for the month. If true, September would be the first time in 2008 where the 360 sold over 300,000 units in a month. Even better news is that September's PS3 sales are estimated to be around 215,000 units or less. Official NPD sales numbers release October 16th, so here's hoping that the 360 reaches or eclipses these sales estimates.

seriously, the PS3 had its few months. even games like LBP wont spur many console sales. i defenitly see the 360 winning every month for the rest of the year.

I think he means the PS2 didn't have any other console to worry about whereas the 360 still hasn't beaten the wii in sales.

Duh! Almost every console, every year, in the history of game consoles has had sales increase starting around September or October, and peak in December.

This holiday season will be interesting since it seems as though Sony is foregoing any price cuts, which means the entry level PS3 is going to be $399 whereas the entry level 360 is $199. What with the economy sucking I can see a lot of budget-minded parents going with the 360 over a PS3. The Wii will also do well.

It's also likely that the 360 will be heavily marketed towards Christmas in conjunction with the NXE release.

At least now you can pick up an inferior version of Bioshock that came out a YEAR AGO on the Xbox 360 and is far and away better on the 360 . But at least you can get it for the POS3 for 60! BWhahahah

What's the game cost now on the 360 1/2 of that ?? For a better A MUCH better version of the same game!
