Microsoft has just announced that the
New Xbox Experience will release worldwide on November 19. Originally announced during E3 2008, the New Xbox Experience rethinks the way the Xbox 360 dashboard works in nearly every conceivable way. Adding features such as
Avatars, the ability to install games to a hard drive and better organization for content, the NXE has been at the forefront of nearly every Microsoft event since it was first revealed. The worldwide release will hit in 26 countries and will be localized in 11 different languages. We anticipate November 19 will be a busy day to sign into Xbox Live.

I wonder what time it will hit? i might stay up/wake up early for it?
DigDug @ Oct 9th 2008 3:18AM
Anyone really unexcited about this? From what I have seen, it makes navigating slower, and does not really offer anything new (aside from the game installs).
On my 20GB Premium, it will allow me to install 1 game, big whoop. From what I see, it gives a very marginal increase in speed (10 secs GTA IV bootup time), but takes an hour to install.
Sure there is lots of hype, But I can't see why, they are just copying Sony/Apple/Nintendo..

im hyped for the disc installs because it will silence the roaring dvd drive and shave a few seconds off load times. im gonna install Virtua Fighter 5 and hopefully save time between fights..
if you want to avoid the NXE the old blades have been moved to the guide and replicate most of the dashboard features. i use both equally but i do look forward to browsing the XBLM without exiting to the dashboard..

Foggy Bottoms @ Oct 9th 2008 12:22AM

Veritas @ Oct 9th 2008 12:12AM

philmcphail (Welcome Back Mr. ESC!) @ Oct 9th 2008 4:39PM
I know!!!! and what? No Diggs? This is awesome news, predictable or not!
Mr Bunky @ Oct 9th 2008 12:18AM
I think it's hilarious that Microsoft announces this in July at E3 and delivers with a November release and PS3's home has been in the works for almost 2 years now with no release date in sight.
T-Day @ Oct 9th 2008 1:10AM
Home this fall buddy...
Can't wait for the new features, getting closer to Forza 3:)
Falryu @ Oct 13th 2008 12:59PM
What I find more hilarious is actually the fact that Home is coming out at November just as this update is coming out. Would be even more hilarious that they came out the same week.
diamondxp @ Oct 9th 2008 12:39AM
Damn there goes my prediction for Scene it and this to launch together. I Can not wait for this.
Ghoti @ Oct 9th 2008 1:06AM
I'm most excited for the install to hard drive option.
psychohog @ Oct 9th 2008 11:27AM
I second that.
gaymerxbox360 @ Oct 9th 2008 1:18AM
Ohhhh! Nov 19 seems to far :*(
rusyst @ Oct 9th 2008 1:54AM
If only we could see list of these countries..
Dirty Whirlwind @ Oct 9th 2008 4:52AM
It seems like it will only be 11 languages - not 19 - according to a standalone blogpost from Majornelson in contrast to what he said during the liveblog.
So no new languages will be added, since the current dash already is translated in 11 languages.
R_Fusion @ Oct 9th 2008 2:07AM
oh sweet! Finally we get a release date. Oh wait! :S
"We anticipate November 19 will be a busy day to sign into Xbox Live".
Hopefully by that time, the issues what some people have on xbox live for now, will be gone. I dont want Nov. 19 to turn out as RROD day.
Fluffy @ Oct 9th 2008 4:26AM
Finally the countdown begins!
Jayenkai @ Oct 9th 2008 6:09AM
How big is it?
I only bought the Arcade, so only have a 256Mb card to fit it onto... (Unless it goes elsewhere..?)
Viridium @ Oct 9th 2008 8:50AM
If system firmware went onto a memory card, then how would your Xbox boot up with no memory card or hard drive installed?
Fear not, it will install to whatever NVRAM the Xbox uses for its system firmware.
Jayenkai @ Oct 9th 2008 8:53AM
Good to know!
Honestly, I had no idea where it'd go! But good to know there's a good enough chunk internally to do the trick! *phew*
ANt @ Oct 9th 2008 12:41PM
Buy a 20 gig HD on eBay for like $20.
josh @ Oct 9th 2008 9:20PM
It will install .. arcade comes with internal memory also, just not for games or movies. like the 20gb. etc..
niakori @ Oct 9th 2008 1:17PM
Jubilations!
StefanTheMongol @ Oct 9th 2008 6:31PM
Ok, so Xbox Live will crash on it's face Nov. 19th, got it, I'll try to actually get the update Nov. 24th when it recovers.
Chalie @ Oct 10th 2008 8:32AM
When the whole netflix thing comes out, will you be able to watch the same movie with a friend if he doesnt have the netflix. Will there be a movie link .
and explain how the 8 man Team Chat is going to work.
I think it would be cool to watch a vid with one of your XbL bros.
Octantis @ Oct 10th 2008 10:58AM
Both people need to have netflix in order to watch the movie together. It was covered in a post a few weeks back. As for 8 way chat. I figure it will work similar to the current chat just with 8 people and the new avatar interface.
matt pownage @ Oct 10th 2008 9:44PM

MIcorsoft Rep @ Oct 20th 2008 5:32PM
