Only in Little Big Planet: 360 unloads on PS3

With the beta for the PS3 create-a-platformer Little Big Planet underway, it looks like many PS3 owners are dedicating their time to building levels designed to denigrate our console of choice, the Xbox 360. A quick search on YouTube reveals videos like the one above, which centers (perhaps justifiably) on the Red Ring of Death. There may be more of these anti-360 levels out there. We don't know and, quite frankly, don't care. What we do care about is a pro-360 level sent to us by a reader. We like it for its panache, creativity and, particularly, its toilet humor. I'm in the beta, and i can safely say it doesn't take that long. It starts old. It's a sloppy platformer with an extremely comprehensive editor that takes like an hour to make anything decent.

It will appeal to the type of people who liek forge in halo or who create castles out of drums in crysis, but the average player ain't gonna get much mielage out fo the game.

It's very sad that PS3 owners are so insecure about a console that they have to resort to nonsense like this. If this were on the 360 and we were to make a PS3-like level, it would be an empty level with nothing to do in it. lol

That doesn't seem to happen much with 360 games though, because we have a much better community, imho. I really can't stand the PS elitists and I never want to be one.

honestly im not sure which game ill personally be playing all day come 21st. FableII or LBP. but both will be sitting in my consoles for a while thats for sure.

@maynard - I found your point rather self-contradictory, imho...let's face it; fanboyism in general stems from brand loyalty, jealousy, insecurity, etc. I'll admit I'm somewhat of a ps3 fanboy, but I prefer thought-out, friendly arguments over blatant flaming anyday. Sure, these anti-360 levels may strike you as insecure, but saying the ps3 has no games at this point is ignorant.

So let me get this straight.... as much PS3 bashing that comes from the 360 camp is no big deal. In fact, it doesn't even exist. Certainly not to the point of someone having obtained a LBP beta key and invested many hours learning tools long enough to construct this level in the whole of 20 minutes it would take, on a console they seem to despise and hate. Awful lot of trouble when someone could just as easily go "They could make an empty level and name it PS3 lol."

Of course we could all just look at the fact that these console bash levels are by far the most barren and uninteresting levels on the servers and judge the entire game and it's fanbase on some of the laziest efforts on the game so far.

Nope, it's far easier to say fantards on both the consoles are fantards and not try and live in some imaginary land where the insults only fly one way.

having spent some time in the beta myself, I can safely say LBP won't get old for a loooong time. The level editor is extremely rich, and you have a very very wide array of possibilities when it comes to what sort of objects you can make.

I love my 360 - but MS has taken a very tight assed stance on used created content - and that's where LBP excels. This game wouldn't have come to the 360 EVER for the simple reason that MS would shoot it down because they couldn't sell you maps.

Haha I played that Red Ring of Death level but never been in the second videos level. I have the Little Big Planet Beta and can honestly say the game is a ton of fun.

I also own a 360 and can say that the 360 is an excellent system in its own respect. And I enjoy my PS3 also. Thanks for posting that second video though it was funny.

As much of a 360 fanboy I am I must admit I'm somewhat jealous of LittleBigPlanet, not jealous enough to plop down the cash for a PS3 but none the less the game has it's charm and looks like it's going to have a awesome endless amount of user-generated stuff.

That's the ONLY thing I have a problem with when it comes to Xbox Live anything user-created seems to be prohibited, A perfect example would be Unreal Tournament and the mods and what not.

Also as someone mentioned earlier, it's a bit hard to charge for user-generated content.

But it's certainly possible on the 360, and has been done before. Don't believe me? Check out Far Cry: Predator - Instincts. It's got a pretty decent map editor, and you can share maps with anyone you meet/play with online. Though there isn't a central repository, granted.

First off, lets say this: I have wii, PS3, and will soon purchase a 360 (blame Fable II and GoW2 they look awesome). I am a fanboy, but not too much of a extremist.

I concur as well, I have a 360 & PS3 and both are great. The 360 has great games and so does the PS3. As for LittleBigPlanet, it's pretty damn cool because I can't draw worth sh!t but with the level creator thing I can actually make what's in my mind.
