There is little doubt that fighting games and arcades go hand-in-hand, so the death of arcades should mean the death of the genre, right? No! Thanks to the advent of online competition, fighting games have been given a new lease on life. One of the many fighting titles still battling for console attention is the upcoming Street Fighter IV from Capcom. Bringing the series back to the quarter-stealing roots of Street Fighter II, SFIV is one of our most anticipated titles of ... whenever Capcom decides to release it!

it's out already for a few months atleast in the arcades in NYC the game is sick ......

If they keep it in japanese and put english subtitles i think i would buy it.

so Sakura is now playable...anyone else think that character poll was a load of Bull? Cammy "won" it, but Dan, Fei Long and Sakura still made the cut.
also where the hell is Cammy?! at LEAST give us some character art of her SF4 style!

Its already been confirmed that Cammy will be in the game, which is a character i really wanted to see too.
Street Fighter IV producer Yoshinori Ono has confirmed that everyone's favorite British secret agent clone of M. Bison in a bikini and pigtails, Cammy, will appear in the console versions of Street Fighter IV.

yeah, i know she's confirmed, but there hasn't been any pics, video of her SF4 iteration, just a clip in the anime promotion vid. for the first character to be mentioned as console exclusive they sure do show NOTHING of her.

I'm more the Virtua Fighter type (though I hate the wrestlers), but I loved SF2 back on the 16bits.. I agree with Matazah about keeping the Japanese audio..
It's going to be miles (even light years) better than Tekken 6. Hell, I may do as a mate suggested & buy it as a boycott against Tekken..
If there's a way they could drop wrestlers, boxers & that fat guy I'd happily pay an extra £10 ($18?) - or atleast give me the option of turning characters off so they never appear in any mode.. with a limit it to say., 4 characters..

As far as gamestop goes, The release date is March 31, 2009. I am friends with a the manager at my local gamestop and he said thats the date he was given but it could change.
