Tomorrow (Tuesday), we will be digitally sitting down with team Bungie to chit-chat about Halo 3: Recon, upcoming Halo 3 DLC and any other topics that come to mind. But we need your help.
We formally request that you send us your burning Halo / Bungie related question that only team Bungie can answer. Post your hard hitting (or soft hitting) questions in the comments below, then we'll sift through them prior to Tuesday's interview and hopefully find a few goodies to ask. Bonus points to persons who generate questions that haven't already been answered (ahem) and don't receive a "not comment" response. Now get to it, comment us your Bungie questions ASAP!

It may have been answered before but i can't remember, but i want to know that if "recon" is a stand-alone disc with its own achievements, what the hell are these "mythic" achievements that appeared with the last update.
There are achievements for finding skulls so i am thinking that they are more than just a new set of maps

Yes, Recon will be included on a separate disc rather than DLC. Also, in the link X3F gave us, Bungie says that the Recon Campaign will have 1000 Gamerscore to get, so ya.
The Mythic achievements refer to the six maps that will be releasing "early 2009" according to Bungie. Again, I got that from the link in the post.

How will the ODST stack up against various Covenant enemies? For example, while grunts are trivial most of the time to Master Chief, will the main character of Recon have more trouble with them? Also, from what it seems in the trailer the main character will be by himself at least in the beginning of the game. Will the same continue for the whole game, or will he can allies?

during the trailer what seemed like a new HUD was featured, with the outlining of the enemy's in red. Will this make a jump to the final game, and if so, in terms of story elements why didn't the Spartans have this, since their armor is supposed to be state of the art.

Will the other co-op characters (i have an understanding that there will be 4-player co-op) have an actual part within the story. I ask because in Halo 3, the two elites, played by players 3 and 4 in cooperative campaign play, have no actual play in what happens within the story, other than having cameos in some cut-scenes.
I think that's an important question =)

the box art appears to show a silencer on the ODST's gun. Are there going to be a slew of new guns for this game, just some modified ones, or what?

The weapon that the ODST is holding is an SMG with a supressor and a red dot sight I believe.

He didn't ask about the release of Recon, he was asking about the new map pack, the Mythic Map pack, which will be available in early 2009/ Winter of Jan and Feb.

Does Bungie expect Halo: Recon to replace Halo 3 as one of the dominant games on Xbox live. Should gamers forget about their copies Halo 3 because Recon will never leave their systems, or will this new release be more of a compliment that is not a totally new experience but something that mixes it up every now and then.

Bungie hasn't decided on a firm price yet, and they said that since they consider Recon an expansion rather than a full game, that it will cost less. And no, as of this moment, Recon will debut on disc only. No DLC.

While Bungie has stated that Halo 3: Recon is built upon the Halo 3 engine, I was curious if this is an upgraded version of that engine or if this is the same engine version that shipped with Halo 3?

I'm pretty sure I read that there is actually going to be multiplayer specifically for Recon, both in the form of 4 player co-op and regular slayer. Bungie stated that the Mythic map pac would be released "early 2009"

Will the multiplayer be independent of Halo 3 or will they share the same matchmaking space? Have you considered making other character models playable in matchmaking, such as playable grunts, brutes, or flood - perhaps even with separate abilities for each character class?

I heard that Recon would feature "advanced Forge options", but I also heard that the game won't have multiplayer, just maps for Halo 3. So how does the relation between Recon Forge and Halo 3 work?

Has bungie seen or handled the map editor for Far Cry 2? If so, have they ever considered doing something similar for Halo3:Recon, or a future Halo title? A true map editor, not something like Forge.

Would it be possible to export the multiplayer maps to be used in Halo 3, preventing a split population, a la Rock band manner? Maybe with the purchase of the game new, you can export, if not, then sorry. Seems like a good idea, a profitable one too.

Seems as though the previous interview states that the multiplayer will be identical to halo 3. Kinda odd they would do that. They could have just made it DLC, but they are looking to attract more people I guess. Maybe it would be too big for those with the 20 gig or smaller. This way anybody could play.

Will Recon look significantly better than Halo 3? eg. more realistic art style/ engine improvements. And most importantly (to people with HDTVs anyway), will there be anti-aliasing this time around?
Will the ODST have recharging health, if so how will this be explained in game (as only Spartans have energy shielding)
Also while he should do the same amount of damage as the Master Chief does while using weapons, his melee attacks should definitely not be as strong, he also shouldn't be able to jump as high (with implications for multiplayer). Can he handle heavy weapons like the turrets, gravity hammer etc.
The trailer hints that the campaign of the 'lone wolf' kind, contrary to earlier rumours of being a squad based game, (Bungie hired a Ghost Recon creative director if you remember, is he working on this game?)

I believe they already answered this in a previous interview. They said that the ODST does not have shields nor is as strong which means you have to think about how you are ging to deal with the enemies. Probably explains the silenced weapon.

Whats the deal with the multiplayer? Theres been some confusion with how you talk about Recons multiplayer. So is there gonna be multiplayer, or just a map pack with a campaign?

According to the mythic achievements, it would appear that these maps would be playable as both multiplayer and single player maps, or are there going to be skulls in multiplayer maps? Also it would seem that looking at the tank dropper achievement, is that an achievement gotten from forge or will mythic combine elements of multiplayer and forge?

With Recon it was said you will be a ODST not an invulnerable Spartan. How will you accomplish this difference.
Will his HUD be different.
Will this Character be playable online instead of Spartan and Elite armor permutations.
Does this Game refer to the additional Skulls in the update?
By the way. Love the suspense and cant wait for the game.
