Castle Crashers patch ready to enter MS cert

The long overdue, much anticipated and highly demanded patch for The Behemoth's Castle Crashers is done. You know, the patch that's supposed to fix the game's online issues. Like we said, it's done, just don't rejoice yet. See, it still has to travel on over to Microsoft certification where (GASP!) it could be rejected for some reason. And we don't have to tell you what a rejection from Microsoft will do to the patch's potential release. We shudder to think. Keep those fingers crossed for a patch release in a month's time, that is, if you still care.

You might wish to spell shudder correctly instead of shutter.

A few of my friends and I picked up Castle Crashers a few weeks ago, and we all loved it. Except for that problem of us having to repeat levels because we'd get up to a certain point, only to be smited by the network connectivity gods!

w00t.

Better come out before all the holiday titles hit.

I want a patch that eliminates the darn volleyball game, but that's just because I'm stuck trying to win it...

Sadly, this patch has taken so long that my friends and I have pretty much moved on. I was pretty disappointed that a game so heavily billed as "a multiplayer adventure" was plagued with so many online issues. I got so sick of the connection difficulties, I eventually finished the game alone. It's nice to know that the problems should be corrected once the patch is released, but I don't think it will be enough to draw me back into the game... unless the additional DLC that was leaked is included with it.

ditto.
who has time for castle crashers these days seriously?
dunnypop @ Oct 14th 2008 12:59PM
same here.
Maybe I might give it another whirl to hit Level 99, but seriously... the game became pretty stale.

Agree. The game could have had much longer legs. Lack of net support really let the air out of the balloon.
Sad for Behemoth since they invested so much time in the game for it to fiizzle. I'm sure it sold well, but word of mouth could have made it sell even better.

I haven't played this online yet due to all the talk of network issues. Hopefully this speeds through certification.
SavageGrampa @ Oct 14th 2008 12:39PM
I'll get back in to it. My friends and I have been waiting til the online fixed before finishing it. Too frustrating to play for 30 min then lose your progress.
Conor @ Oct 14th 2008 12:43PM
They took their time with it.

Gez. What the heck took the Alien Hominid patch so long? Kind of makes you wonder if the behemoth were lying when they blamed all of that mess on MS.

Too little too late I think. I loved CC and played it to death but now is best time of the year for games. With Fable, Fallout, COD, Gears, Banjo and many many more coming, I don't see myself making any time for CC.
Vcize @ Oct 14th 2008 2:09PM
Please put this through quickly MS. Like, before Gears 2 comes out, since that will occupy all my multiplayer gaming for months or years once it hits.
dylan @ Oct 14th 2008 2:52PM
I had 4 characters over level 40 and one at 70 when I get the RROD, when it came back everything was fine, all my saved games etc. except Castle Crashers which had disappeared...
Procris @ Oct 14th 2008 3:13PM
Considering it passed MS certification broke last time, i doubt they're will be any issues passing it this time either..
