Were you accepted into the NXE preview? Find out on Oct. 29th

For those of you who were able to register for the New Xbox Experience preview before it closed, circle this Wednesday, October 29th on your daily planner, because that's when NXE preview notifications will be sent out.

On his latest podcast, Major Nelson confirmed that emails will be sent out this Wednesday to those who were chosen to participate in the NXE preview. Because - as you should know by now - those who signed up for the NXE preview are not guaranteed entry. Only a few thousand will be chosen. Also note that this Wednesday's NXE emails will only notify those who are accepted into the preview program and will not be the official start of the preview. Downloading the NXE will come at a later, yet to be determined date that will be before November 19th.

I hope i get accepted but if i don't i can wait too. Fable 2, Far Cry 2, Gears 2, Endwar, Mirrors and Sonic will cheer me up :D

Wow, you'd be patient enough not to sign in to Xbox Live for ten days after the release? Hah, just kidding.

Anyway, I'm excited to see if I get in, for no reason other than it will be cool to have something new to mess with.

Is netflix streaming live on the preview build? If so, I'm pretty excited. If not? Meh.

If Netflix isn't enabled, it's just another skin for the dashboard that I never spend any time in anyway. I'd actually probably wait even if I got in, since I don't want to take the chance of bricking my console with beta firmware updates.

It's not beta firmware it's the full version, major even said in his podcast. So there will be no bricking of your console. You just get it a week or two earlier than everyone else.

Oh. I was under the assumption that we'd be testers of some sort. Either way, being in the first batch of updaters, you do run the risk of running into a bug that could brick your console (it's happened before).

Early adopters get screwed hard and often.

I'm sure MSofts tested it well though, since another PR blunder would be a disaster.

I'd call it more of a Release Candidate. Since if there are any big big problems they would have to delay the main release and make a change to fix it.

Well, considering, if you already have a gold subscription to Live, they have your address and credit card number, I'm not really sure that the info they asked on the survey is any more sensitive.

No. People who were accepted will be able to download it before the 19th. Everyone else will still have to wait.

at this rate, Fable won't last much longer.. so I'll carry on trying to beat CoD4 (Heat) on veteran, before Gears2 (finally).. I guess that could last the last 2 weeks... :s

@11...uh no they don't I have gold and don't use a credit card. I use the prepaid cards to get my gold account. Especially since they are cheaper to get when they are on sale.

If I'm reading this right it says that the email is only telling us that we are part of the preview on Wednesday and that the actual preview starts sometime later?????

I hope I get it. I should probably have a good chance. Because I've had the Microsoft Connect/beta account for a few years. I got to test the vista beta as well as windows live one care beta.

At first I thought itd be lame to copy a game on the hd. but now that fable is out I'm deff gonna put it on to reduce loadtime

Got my survey completed, can't wait til Wednesday to find out if I'm in. It would be great to get that and get GoW2 and install it.

Someone was asking if NetFlix is functional in the early NXE. According to the MN podcast, yes. e has apparently been watching SeaQuest DSV on it and it is the version that you will get if accepted and the Nov 19th release.

I got Netflix set up this past weekend primarily because of the NXE.
