It looks a lot like Windows Media Center.... which SCROLLS REALLLLLLLLLLY SLOW
I DeX I @ Oct 29th 2008 12:44PM
Watch the videos, it certainly does not scroll slow.

The 2 second install time decrease time is disappointing, I was hoping it'd be more substantial. Maybe Katamari isn't the best bellwether for that though though.
MowDownJoe @ Oct 29th 2008 11:55AM
Yeah... your best test will likely... *now loading*... be Sonic 2006.
Tiptup300 @ Oct 29th 2008 12:16PM
OH GOD THE MEMORIES. 8O

It is suppose to also cut down on graphical pop-in and such. I am wondering if it will help out Fable 2, which has a bit with the bushes and trees and such.
EagleX @ Oct 29th 2008 11:53AM
Its not loading for me! :(
ObiBen @ Oct 29th 2008 11:53AM

Xanto @ Oct 29th 2008 11:54AM
Has anyone who signed up for a chance to the NXE early been accepted yet?
Xanto @ Oct 29th 2008 11:55AM

sorry
Perno @ Oct 29th 2008 12:06PM
No, Major Nelson said he will tell everyone when the notification email has been sent and so far...no word from his royal Hyrb-ness.
Mcfail @ Oct 29th 2008 12:20PM
I cant wait for this to come out cause I'm getting tired of being teased with previews of NXE, i hope it's a smooth launch
decapit8 @ Oct 29th 2008 12:29PM

I know the Community Games video, isn't exactly inspiring. But once the system goes live, you will ALL change your tone.
NetRumble for example is a "starter kit" game made to showcase 2d physics and networking code. It's a base game that XNA developers can extract code from for use in their own games. Netters is.... umm.... I have no clue. And Culture... I'm not sure I ever got.
But trust me, the awesome games ARE there...I have seen them... and there are bunches in development that only the developers are privy to. This has the chance to be the biggest feature in the new dash. There will be lots of crappy Flash-grade games, but tons of awesome at the same time.
Ryan @ Oct 29th 2008 12:39PM
Yea but too bad you won't see any dragonball games made by XNA because of the copyrights issue that would make the Community Games a lot more interesting for me though :(
protagonist @ Oct 29th 2008 1:19PM
are you serious?
Ryan @ Oct 29th 2008 1:23PM
YEppss I am a real Dragonball fan and nowadays they dont make dragonball rpg's anymore so I would really appreciate this.
JeSuZ Cicle @ Oct 29th 2008 1:25PM
Correct me if Im wrong, but I believe Major Nelsons page has a twitter notification saying they wont be sending any E-mails out today, but tomorrow.
Paul @ Oct 29th 2008 4:16PM
but look at when he posted that comment on his twitter page. it was posted yesterday (october 28th) evening and since he said today they are planning on sending them out tonight, i am pretty sure he meant last night. what is weird though is that when we originally signed up for this i thought he said that we wouldn't get the emails until today (the 29th) anyways so why would he post that on his twitter. hmmm......

I'd like to see the affect of installation on a game that has longer load times and relies on the HDD a lot. Oblivion or Fable 2, for example.
BK never really seemed to take that long, I imagine there's only so much difference it can make there... but who knows.
Tony @ Oct 29th 2008 11:49PM
"effect", I mean.
