Video: The MK vs DC Universe story

Writing this post, we were fully ready to laugh heartily at the "story" of Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe. We were ready to lambast the cheesiness of it. And yet, strangely, we find ourselves reveling in it. The idea that the universes of Mortal Kombat and DC are merging together seems appropriate enough, especially given the comic book context. The explanation that Superman can be hurt by magic and, thus, Scorpion, seems plausible enough. In fact, forget the cheese, forget the cliches, the shear amount of fanboy minutia being flung about is all that really matters. Check out the trailer above and tell us what you make of it.

That looked great! I guess Joker teams up with the "good guys", then.

This actually looks...really good. But I hate that they wanted the teen rating. I saw a video of Joker's fatality prior to the Teen rating; and it was nothing short of amazing.

Wow. When I first heard about this game I was ready to write it off as a crap. The more I hear about the game now the more I want to play it.

I think the story makes sense and even kinda complements the Mortal Kombat mythos, with realms trying to merge together, BUT now that it has gone from a Mature game to Teen...I may make this a rent and not a buy. I am very disappointed in Midway the "creators" of the ESRB and now they conform to sell a few more copies?!! Maybe they should look at the sales figures for the year and take note of Halo 3, GTA IV and COD 4...all "M" rated games.
