CoD: World at War beta now on the XBLM

Surprise! The Call of Duty: World at War multiplayer beta is now available for download off the Xbox Live Marketplace right this very moment. Really, go look for yourself.

Previously, the World at War beta was only available to those who were members of CallofDuty.com, won codes via gaming websites or pre-ordered the game at Gamestop stores. Now, the 890MB beta download is on the Marketplace. So, give it a download, ~~kill some zombies~~ wish you could kill zombies and tell us what you think.

Hey guys this is really awesome but the way you worded it at the end makes it sound like you get a demo of the nazi zombie mode.. You should consider revising.

I got an email from gamestop about the demo coming to XBL on tuesday at 2am wasn't released yet so I put the code and it started to download pretty crazy a lot of people are going to play it now.

Am I the only one who's been sorta bored with the beta? Played till the 21 lvl cap, and haven't played since they rose it again to 41.

Eh.. 3 maps get boring pretty quick.

your not the only one. I think i got as far as the 11 cap when it first came out and i havent touched it since. It wasnt the maps for me, it was the 1942 weapons. And is there a reason one of the unlocks is a baynette?? As far as i can tell its just a knife.

Bayonet extends the range of melee though. Its actually quite useful for me.

This really is more of a demo then a beta. The closed Beta ended a few days back so this is their version of a demo.

The only improvement over CoD4 was only in the beta for around day - they removed the respawn times in hardcore matches. Now the respawn times are stupidly long again.

Getting spawn killed (a massive problem) isn't as bad when you don't have to wait 15-20 seconds to spawn again.

Been playing the PC demo... This is only a watered down version of Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare with a WWII skin... It definitely feels like a Treyarch game (not a good thing), and, in my opinion, will be the same piece of rubbish Call of Duty 3 was.

If this is a watered down version of COD4 then why does it include these things that COD4 doesn't have at all
-4 player online co-op that is different from the actual single player story
-4 player online zombie survival mode

I loved Call of Duty 4... I personally think its the best console FPS so far, but after COD5 comes out I can guarantee it will be better than COD4 unless you don't like old weapons which I'm perfectly fine with... A bullet is a Bullet, as long as it hits it kills.

Also, I hate treyarch and was expecting a horrible game to come from them, but it isn't horrible its just COD4 reskinned and some stuff added to it, also how does it feel like a treyarch game, its nothing like COD3 which was a horrible mess, they actually did this game right... people need to stop bitching and just go play the game they want to play nobody cares what you have to say. I don't talk shit about Gears cause I hate that game. I just play the games I like.

Because it's built off the COD4 multiplayer engine, it plays pretty nice. However, Treyarch really could use some help in the polish dept. The visual look of the menus and in-game map are kind of 2nd year design student-ish.

So I decided to play the beta after hearing about the beta being released on the marketplace because I figured I would get a ton of free kills. Well boy was I wrong. I played 6 games of war, and lost every single one because of all you god damn fucking noobs just jacking off in every corner you could find while I was trying to win each game myself. I was actually planning on buying this game but considering the dick move Treyarch decided to make by letting you inbred 12 year olds play for no reason (I was a member of the forums and you sat there with your thumb up your ass) they lost my 60 bucks.

Thanks for the heads up about the download being available to all. Seems like the charlieoscardelta club or whatever it's called now would have sent people a message.

I really like the CoD series and I'm impatiently waiting for the "demo" to download now.

I played alot of CoD3 even though it was pretty horrible and really liked the fourth game. If Treyarch was able to make some improvements I can't wait to see what Infinity Ward does next time.
